What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Those Northfields are pretty nice, but I like Charlie's barlows better!

I have handled exactly one of Charlie's Barlows, and I liked it quite a bit, but the Stew's blade wasn't for me. I'm excited about getting one of the upcoming sheepsfoots so I can really put it through the paces. I tend to favor the 77's size over the smaller 15, but I'm excited to try it nonetheless.

For all the nice words about my knives (and my prose!*),

Thank You! Thank you very much!!:D

Cool prose, Charlie! Elvis' early years were definitely his best! Not so with beautiful knives of yours however. They just get better through the years!

Now I'm curious about the front label! Will it have a reference to the King?! Will Tom be wearing blue suede shoes? Will Tom and friend be wearing the big sideburns? Charlie, I hope y'all go all out with the Elvis theme!

All these questions and more are just a few pages back! (In my news anchor voice)

Since I can't probably get away with much teasing anymore - you Folks are on to me  - I will just flat out show you the label!

Thinking about Tom and Huck growing up and getting into their teen years, I thought of my own early teens. A flood of nostalgia washed over me, and took me off on a tangent.
It was hard to stay focused! I like early country music and rockabilly, and 50s-60s rock and roll. I had sideburns and blue suede shoes!! :D
Ah well, it kept me out of trouble - - or not!;)

Anyway, I am looking forward to these knives! The Sheepfoot is a useful little knife. A lot of blade in a traditional Barlow, and easy to carry. I ask ya, what more does a knife guy need??

Say, that guy that just left the building!! Was that???? Naw, it couldn'ta been!! . . . . . . . . . . Could it??
Here ya go! Found it @Dr. Scott

The best of all we love in traditional knife collecting are embodied in this thread.

Charlie, first I have seen of the jigging on the new "sheepsfeet".I agree Bill pushes back the bolsters to show the jigging ,old world craftsmanship at a production scale, amazing.

Bill is the master in this age of cutlery because of his passion for excellence. You are right there my friend pushing his boundaries, great team....

You ain't wrong, Sean!!

There have been a couple of holdups, so the knives won't be shipped to the dealers until the 11th of March.:grumpy:
Hey that's not too far away!

Meanwhile, besides GEC's pics, here's a little taste of what you will see when you get them! A whimsical answer to whimsical events! :D

Is that they are from the heart of the Father of these knives, his personal passion just oozes out - not some plain ol' text explaining what the knife is, just awesome, as are the Walnut TC's.

Charlie please-keep bringin' 'em on there - ya hear!

This is going to be a a great output of sheep !:)

I have a place for any lost sheepies.

Man, that jigging (and that Santos wood) is absolutely stellar. I don't think I'm gonna end up with one, but congrats to everyone who does!
