What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Thanks, Rob & Perry! I scrolled right by your comments earlier... old eyes. Perry, the jigging on these are definitely at another level. Great work going on in T'ville!

I accidentally added in a picture of my new 48 at first so there were 3 knives shown briefly but the 48 definitely didn't belong in this thread lol.

OK, so I got my Palo Santo barlow in the mail today. I didn't really know what to expect because the wood seemed fairly run of the mill from the photos (pardon the pun). But after opening the tube...my jaw dropped. Not only for the awesome grain in the wood, but moreso for the magical "chatoyance" as Charlie learned us. The way that the grain changes based on perspective; the "tiger's eye effect."
Notice how the dark grains turn light and vice vera. Palo Santo literally means "holy stick." This one is special!

That is a special one all right! Not all of them are as dramatic, but they all have at least some of that quality, as far as the few that came my way.
Thanks for the show, Payton!!

You got me with that series of pictures Al!!:D
Nice Elvis Barlow!!

LOL! Brilliant Al! :D

Here's a couple of pictures of my 3 new TC Barlows. These are really nice. Now if I can somehow score the soup bone.

Charlie, you get a lot of well-deserved praise for everything you've done for traditional knives, especially Barlows. But you have really had a positive impact on the humble sheepfoot blade. When was the last time sheepfoots were so popular? Your Barlows have had ripple effects that will keep sheepfoots in pockets for years to come. Beautiful work, Charlie and GEC!

Charlie, the knives are beautiful... thank you....but I'd like to add a special thanks to you for the blue suede pocket slips. They are the perfect size to protect my beautiful knives from my keys and my change. Most of my pants don't have a watch pocket, and this slip works terrifically.

What are the possibilities of my pocket slip (or frankly of my knife) getting wet? Pretty small. So many thanks for this thoughtful little surprise in this package of special knives.

Nothing like being home sick and the post man bring you some soup

So fairhaven congratulations you have won like The Triple Crown! What does a TC soup bone give you The Quadruple Crown, the lottery, buried treasure, windfall , jackpot NO all are inadequate. Good Luck!

Our pal Sugarleaf won the septuple crown - all 7 variations. Let's praise his industriousness!

He has pictures on his Instagram.
