What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

I wish I had the skills to be able to do it as I would have a whole lot more knives converted to single blades lol. This one was done by a friend. :)

Looks very professional, like Eric himself built it that way. Congrats on a fine, unique carry.

A knife does not need to be old to be a good, traditional Barlow. My new sheepfoot, Antique Yellow jigged bone:

I'm so nearsighted, I didn't notice all the lint on the knife until I saw the blown up pictures on the computer. I'll have to clean it up and take some more photos!
Beeeautiful angle shot, Scott! Love that jigging too. You lucky dawg!

Being an Ebony kinda guy first and foremost I held off any opinions until I could see the Palo Santo first hand---it's darn purdy stuff:cool:

Che Chen Rosewood TC Barlow in my pocket today. It just arrived today and was sent to me from my great friend Old & in the Way.

I could only salvage one of the new sheep and I am afraid to take it out of it's Rabbit hole. :o :D

I sure do appreciate my consolation prize though.:)

Man you guys are driving me crazy!! I'm waiting on a tan jig TC that I found, waiting on the Beerlow I got from Evan, and it's been almost a month since I sent in my red soup TC to have the protruded pins taken care of....I'm stressing about that one a lot since I just sold off the 2nd one I had.

I CAN'T TAKE THE WAITING!!!

Cant wait for the next Barlow's after seeing this last run of knives.:D Wonder if that 1899 dollar ever purchased the perfect Barlow for some lucky young man?

You know what I find helps when you're waiting? Searching for more sweet barlows!

Im always looking but I usually get priced out of them or they get scooped up long before I even see them! It's ok, it's the hunt that drives all of us!

I did a lot of legwork and poking around to avoid missing out on this run. Cannot capture in two dimensions how amazing Palo Santo is!

Found this NIB George Wostenholm I*XL this week, real hand filling handles. I will never complain about the pull on a GEC again after opening the blades on this one, mini bear traps.

^ nice looking stag Augie.

Well men, I got in my TC today! Now for some honesty...it's a factory 2nd. I missed all the reserves but I kept checking around for these anyhow and got this one through Barry. The only thing wrong is that the scale on the mark side is slightly tapered toward the liner rather than rounded like it should be. It's hard to show it in pictures, it's more noticeable in your hand looking at it but oh well. Everything else is perfect! It doesn't bother me as I will be sure to carry, use, show off and of course, keep the joints oiled.

Also, there were a few of these available and I hope no one bought them to flip and pass off as it being one without flaws.

There are no markings on the blade or tang of the knife designating it a second? Typically you'll see a small '2' stamped into it
