What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Im sure you guys are sick of seeing all my posts today but its always a learning curve for me to get decent pics of my knives. Rusty as I'm getting older, you might say:roll eyes:
Bet you can't tell which one is my favorite.

What a beauty Perry, your photography is terrific as well:thumbup: Is that an old postcard in the last two pictures?

Paul, these are some photos that are part of my wife's collection. She said today,,"since you're getting frustrated with what your trying to shoot, why not try with these old pictures". And you know what, she was right,,,,,Again!

Nice TC soup bone Perry! Glad to see you where able to get one.......I know how bad you wanted one! Congrats!

I remember old pictures of my Grandmothers Perry. They were black and white and they'd add the color to them.

I like the valleys Perry !!! ;):D Very different and attractive soup bone.:thumbup::)

That knife would have made your trip worth it, IMO. ;)

TC madness in Oregon for you guys, congrats! I would have loved to come but I blew the plane ticket money on another Davison barlow I saw on the exchange last week.

Maybe I'll swing by the Rendezvous. It's about 1.5 hrs from me...it'll make a nice ride on the bike

Jake that is a stunning looking Davison Barlow! Hard call Davison Barlow or OKCA Show yeah I see the conflict that arose out of those options. Well done and congratulations on adding that masterpiece to your collection! Lloyd

Thank you Augie, Marko, Paul and Rob! One thing I learned today,,,I gotta keep my skills up on this picture taking thing! Paul,, some of these old photos were so old that I couldnt tell what was even going on in them until the macro feature took over and I could blow them up. Yep Marko, that one knife was worth the trip but I have to say, I really love that antique yellow jigbone too! And,,,and the PPP ebony 2 bladed version and the smooth yellow too! Ok, shutup Perry, we've heard enough!

Jake I completely understand why you would miss the show for that one! Wow

Looking Good guys!!
Awesome Soupy there Perry! - perfect lighting to the blades my friend, I like the old [Postcards, I have a few that have been hand coloured over the Black and White-as Paul mentioned-in fact I think some photos of me were hand coloured as well when I was just a wee lad :o

Yeah, I think I had few made of myself, in the early 1960s, Duncan. My wife loves these old pictures and I get it now, they're great for shooting with knives too! She probably has 40 or 50 of these and I'll be using more in the near future. Thank you for noticing the Soup, my friend!

I'll keep trying to do my best, Sugarleaf! Maybe that'll make me get better at it.
Perry
