What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Al, very very nice and yes my head is spinning from trying to take in all those fantastic Barlows in one look! Thanks for posting this picture of an outstanding assemblage. I love these kind of pictures. The man and his Barlow collection (or partial collection) I like it! Lloyd

Here's a few more shots of family stuff with TCs. Notice in the Soup pic, my grandfather's tunic from WW1 has a company logo that's eerily close to the TC logo! Man, what are the odds??

Then a photo of my father while on leave in Tyler, Texas in 1943, boy do I wish he had kept that Army issue Harley just a bit longer!

And last is a cover of a book that shows and tells of the history of the Industrial age.

Well thank you AL! Glad it conjured up those precious memories for ya. That's pretty much what it does for me too.
LOL, that's what we all do in this ward, I mean Barlow thread, Lloyd!
Here's a few more that my wife thought might be neat to add.

These are for Phil and anyone else that loves the Soup!

Count me in for the soup Perry !! I liked these pics a lot !!!:thumbup:;):)

Beautiful bunch of Barlows boys. This is my small, humble variety pack.

Nice trio of Barlows !!:)

Thanks, Charlie & Perry... I might have had 3 Barlows total before Charlie lit the fire with the TC Barlows, plus the many pictures of vintage Barlows he's shown us. It has been fun hunting for them and a pleasure owning them.

Great collection of Barlows Al !!! He done the same to me too !!!:thumbup::thumbup:;):D

Perry one of the great mysteries of the modern age finally resolved the origin of the TC logo revealed! Just kidding. That is surprisingly similar however. Your pictures once again are fabulous. The historical memorabilia with the TCs sure adds immeasurablly to the overall photographic impact. Well done sir! Lloyd

Man Perry, just great pictures!!! I have a similar picture of my Dad on his Indian motorcycle. He was headed to Alabama to pick up his brother, then from there they were headed to Florida, sell the Indian and buy rifles to go hunting in the Everglades.

My Dad never did figure out how they came up with such a plan? Regardless the plans never materialized because he was hit by a grain truck in Wisconsin. He survived (just barely) & came back to North Dakota.

Now to see If I can find the picture:thumbup: it's a Barlow picture waiting to happen:D You know what they say about imitation:o

^^^ Great pictures and stories Perry and Paul. Good catch on the resemblance of the company logo to the TC, and the motorcycles, I mean knives :o:D.

Thank you Lloyd, Rob, Paul and Dave! Scary close on the logo,,ain't it? My knifer friends, these are just part of some family memories hanging in my basement. Paul, I would love to see that photo of your dad on that Indian,,the first American motorcycle! Be sure to post your favorite TC or barlow next to it though.:D BTW, still carrying that SAK Pioneer you gifted me a couple weeks ago and you're right! Very handy and hardly notice it in the pocket. Dang it, now you got me wantin more,,,like I need another knife,,,that was my wife talking.

Augie-whenever you post my friend - I like!!

Heres one TC that in my opinion joins the ranks of the all time best, and its HARD to try and pick the best from a bunch like this...

But to join knives like this....

or this.........

this one here steps up to the play BIG TIME!!! .... The work going into the Bone is showing results - I love the Jigging, The fit and finish - the Colour - everything about this knife screams awesome......

Like you say Perry - the Valley's are cool!!

It's been a while since I visited this thread. Just soaking it all up. Beautiful pocket knives ladies and gentlemen, just beautiful. I'm beginning to think that maybe I should try and find myself a two blade TC, maybe... :)

Great photos, Perry. My dad was in the 107th Cavalry motorcycle division during WWII. He was quite the Dapper Dan back then in his flared riding pants and boots.

I have updated my TC Barlow collection page (Primble's Charlow Farm :D) this morning. You can see my current and most of my collection there. It takes a couple minutes to load, since it is picture heavy and drawing from two storage sites. Some of you might think it worth while to see some of the has beens. :D

No need to comment on that page - just a picture show for TC fans. ;):)

Primble, your photo's are always great. But, what do you polish the steel bolsters with to get them to gleam like that... or is that in the processing? Looks great, whatever.

Things are good down on the farm Primble, what a collection, just beautiful. Must be using a lot of Miracle Grow!:D

I love the Pot. Perm. 3rd cut stag, just so unique and vintage looking.

Thank you for the comments nugun55. I usually rub the bolsters and bone with a micro fiber cloth before taking pics. It keeps the dust bunnies at large too.

I also keep an eye on the bolster reflections when taking the pics. Nothing else. :)

Thank you Brad !!!:D I like the results on the 3rd cut stag too. ;):D

Added another to the stable! :D

Fred - I always enjoy seeing your fine collection of clip TC Barlows.:thumbup::D

I am having trouble deciding which one is the 'nother to the stable - could it be the jigged bone?:confused::D

The long pull spearpoint on the left; was that one modified? I don't recall any with lanyard holes. Also type of wood? I'm not as versed on the TC's as most here, but that's one I've never seen before. I do like it a lot though.

Primble - Red Jiggy! You guessed it. Stalker. :D

Biscuit - That was a custom modified Sheepsfoot. Glenn added ziricote wood scales and a lanyard tube. I'm a bead carver and I wanted a show piece. Since then I got bit by the clip point bug.

Here is my sweetie pie. Rust Red Sawcut. My first clip. It's bonded. It's helped work on the Jeep, and helped to feed me. And it cut me.
