What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Bob you and I are similar in that regard, little late to the TC party. I only have a few picked up with no rhyme or reason besides counting myself blessed to have any at all. That is a beautiful knife, enjoy!

I too started a little late Drew. This sheepsfoot run was actually the first full run I was able to participate in (if you don't count the Anniversary). I have been lucky enough to have been helped by some members of this forum and backfilled a little bit from previous runs. Keep plugging away And you'll be able to find what you're looking for. Like Perry said, the hunt is half the fun!:D BTW, I didn't forget about ya. I'll shoot you a msg a little later on this evening...

Thanks Drew. At one point, my only TC's were all sheepfoot single blades. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I just wanted to experience a variety of different ones.

I think you are going to look back Bob and be thrilled that sheepsfoot TC's were the ones you started with an overabundance of. A few months ago, finding a sheepsfoot TC was a pretty difficult task.:thumbup:

Thanks! I'm a sucker for these Hillside hankerchiefs. I don't know if they're worth $40, but they sure are nice

Yeah, those Hillside Hankies are cool  But Yikes! I agree with ya there, $40 beans is a lot of scratch

... Life's waaay to short to loose sleep over something like a knife. So, I'm just going to appreciate and enjoy the ones I'm able to grab here and there. ...

Good reminder for me there, Bob.:thumbup:
I'm not a body-art kind of guy, but that would be a good tattoo for me. Maybe I'll just put it on the bathroom mirror - actually, top of my computer screen would be more effective! :D:D

You guys have 3 hankies that are worth a TC barlow??:eek::eek:

I'll take this, and use my cut-off t-shirt sleeves for hankies!:D

Noooo! I can't afford that! All my money goes to knives (and guns) :D The hankies you see in my photos were all homemade by my girlfriend. I'm not a baller like Jason ;)

But I have had friends say, Whaaat? You paid $200 for that little pocket knife? So I guess everything is relative, right?

...Every time I see that anniversary knife I want to kick myself but remind myself later that sometimes you have to decide whats most important at the moment and then it was Washington Jacks but today its Soup so the hunt starts anew my friend.

Rich

Rich, I made the opposite choice. I picked up the Anniversary Barlow and another Charlow, and decided not to invest in the Washington Jack. Now I'm just hoping Charlie will commission another run of Washingtons some day when I haven't spent my allowance!

Unexpectedly nice evening in the Pacific Northwest today. You never know what the spring will bring. Thought I'd head up to the roof with a beer and my good luck charm to listen to the Mariners game (another loss *sigh*).

I tell ya the people in this traditional forum are something else. The encouragement, support, shared wisdom.. and specifically in this barlow world. Just incredible. Checking my pms as I speak!

It's a beaut, Caleb! Mine is the ever popular Amber Soup! This one was just bought from Barry and it has a bit of less valley to it so I decided it was time to make a decision.

Lol, I made the decision to start carrying this soup. You're funny, Scott! A single blade Copperhead with PPP stamp might just get it in your hands!

Whoa, whoa, hold on a minute there Perry! That's the one you promised me!

Just kidding of course. :D
