What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Wow P! You must have a spy in the GEC factory! Let's see if this works again....hmmmm I hope they post a pic of the antique tan bone  :D

~P, your spy is better than my spy!!:thumbup:

:D

Any word on the Antique Tan? Is that the same tan as in the first batch? Decisions, decisions, decisions.

I wish!

I, too, am eagerly awaiting glimpses (if not full frontals) of finished Antique Tan.

Sorry if asked before, but is the swedge cut both sides?

Is this tan?

Is this brown?

More will (undoubtedly) be revealed.

Thanks for the pics P! To me it looks like both of those bottom pics are brown bone, one is just double blade and the other is single blade

I think (and kinda hope) you're right, but the coloration is different at the edges. Thus my question marks.

Looking at these pictures, it also occurs that, as beautifully as the clip blade sits above the pen blade on the 2-bladers in the closed position, it will present a more noticeable in-hand profile than that of the spear main when the pen blade is in use.

Decisions, decisions.

Holy Cow!

Yes, Holy Cow!

Those look great! I'm getting a double tan, and a single ebony. These are going to kick the spear points out of my pocket!

The official name is now Saddle Brown (SB)! Those are all SB.
Nice rich color - kinda like dark chocolate.

That Saddle Brown looks wonderful, Very nice dark color! Kinda like old
Utica bone?? Outstanding Charlie. That's the one I need....;)

Thank you Obadiah Barlow, Waynorth, GEC, Tom Sawyer, and Mark Twain.....in that order.:D

It's all that crazy knife guy in Pennsylvania!
I talked to him today for a second. He said he was walking by a tray of those knives, and commented that this Barlow looks the most like an old, antique knife, of all the knives he's done!!

And this is thanks to you Charlie ^^

I hope I don't sound silly, but I have fallen deeply for those single bladed Clip Points. I hope the 2 bladed mob don't Lynch me for saying that:o
I have just recently added to my barlow collection with another Daddy Barlow, I need more...

The TC Clip Barlows are looking great! I can't wait to get my hands on two or three...or four

The saw-cut bone covers look fantastic as well! I would honestly be happy with any of the choices I have seen so far

Here is another photo of my single spearpoint blade TC Barlow while we wait for the clippys...

I've always gone for 2-bladed patterns. And they are still my go-to pattern. But after getting one of the earlier single-blade spear points, I've been amazed at how well it carries. Even when wearing dress slacks it hardly prints at all and the weight is minimal. Almost like carrying a thinner, lighter sodbuster jr.

Uhm, when it comes to naming the colors, and spotting them outright?

Uncle.

Hopefully, someone will take a picture of all three bone colors together, soon?

A rose bone color by any other name still looks mighty sweet, regardless. ;)
