What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Somehow I've managed to stick with clips & clip/pen. It started with only clip/pen and then one thing led to another. I never thought I'd be fortunate enough to collect what I have so far. It gives me hope that one day I'll find them all. Yeah, I've been drinking. :D

Drinking or not, that's a fine display. I can't drink right now so have one for me please. :D Fourth in from the right; is that Rosewood? It's absolutely stunning! I need to find one of those but me thinks there's not much chance of that. :(

Yeah, that's the Anniversary special. I had to eat a lot of broccoli to get my hands on that one.

It's my second favorite next to my trusty Rust Red (4th from left). Now I hunt for the elusive single Rust Red. Which of course will lead to the single Amber, Ebony, and Saddle. :D

 Thanks Fred. I'd eat broccoli for a year to get my hands on one of those. :D Have I mentioned I hate broccoli? :D

Here is a recent photo of my TC collection for those interested. I had them all out the other day doing a little inventory/housekeeping and thought what the heck I will snap a group picture. Not a very good picture but I don't have Primble or Perry kind of photographic skills. I know there are collectors with much bigger TC collections than what I have and some of those same collectors and others on this forum have graciously helped me with some of these I needed and was looking for-- you know who you are thank you very much! I have never focused this much time and energy and $$ on one specific style of anything but TC barlows have a way of charming "your socks off" you as many of you know. Anyway, please if you feel so inclined snap a picture of your TC collection in one shot and let us all be recharmed by these magnificent folders! I really enjoy seeing groupshots of GEC TC barlows. All the best in your TC collecting efforts and remember the hunt and those you meet in the process is half the fun. Thanks Charlie for making this all possible for us--much appreciated my friend. Lloyd

Whooooooooooo Boy! That's some good huntin', Lloyd... very impressive!

Very nice, willydigger! I remember when you first started the hunt... you've done very well!

Wow Phil! you really know how to hurt a guy. :D
I'll bet you have a pretty fine collection going too.

Thanks gentlemen I appreciate your kind sentiments! Willydigger nice TC clip & clip/pen collection anchored by the ultra RARE skunk. Phil the Brazilian Rosewood TC Barlows are gorgeous and very rare but to have three is stupendous! Dean very nice start and I am sure many more will follow. Yes, the disease is debilitatingly delightful!! Lloyd

Once you are at peace with the idea of never owning them all, you can relax a bit, and just enjoy other people's collections.

...Until one night, when the fever catches you again! :D

I love it when you show off, Philllll. Really.:p

Fred and Phil..man oh man, I fully agree with Bob on the rosewood. I didn't even know they existed till now. Bucket list!

Bob I really like the story behind the walnut used on that run

Harry yes it has! Yesterday. I posted some pics and thoughts on the 77 impressions thread. Here is one (hopefully appropriate to post here?) :

Well done and it is very appropriate to post here because I expect that you have not put it down yet.

I had been looking for a good while for a nice old Keen Kutter Barlow, to add to my old Barlow collection. I finally found this picked bone and fancy iron bolstered model:
