What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

I am really looking forward to A New Day in Barlows! Thanks for sharing your dream with us Charlie!

Love that Blue Grass, Harry. Any chance we could get a tang stamp photo?

Thanks Dean and Chris : I will happily get them out again and do some more pictures that will include the tang stamps for you a little later. We have to take one of Our Great Grandsons home.

Dean asked on Post #9806 to see the Tang Stamps of the Blue Grass. The lighting was hard to get right because of the shiney blade and weather , but :

Maybe Primble would please make a good approximation of when the Blue Grass was made. The Tang Stamp actually says : Belknap // Lousiville // KY with 5722 on the back side of the main blade.

Thank you, Harry! My guess on the Blue Grass is post WWII era. I'm sure Primble can give a way better read on it.

I bought another knife from waynorth -- thank you very much! :) -- and this one was a fabulous KA-BAR-LO:

It's pretty traditional in some ways, I believe, with its stamped bolster (love that play on words!), stag covers, and pile-side pen. Maybe a bit less so for having a shield...but I love dogs! It's one of my favorite shield designs.

I couldn't be happier with this one. It's perfect in every way! :)

You guys put a smile on my face, it's contagious! I can't wait to see pictures of these and hopefully snap some of my own :)

I think I saw some of mine in the pictures.

Is that the normal jigging or something different? Jigging looks thinner and closer together than some of the others I have seen.
Really liking the blade on them.
