Sarah, It looks great! I am truly privileged that I have held both Harlequin 1 and Harlequin 2 in my hand
... And I'm so glad. It was great to meet you and your bride, and share knives together what now seems all-too-briefly.
Great picture Sarah! Thanks for sharing.
You're welcome! It's one of the only pictures I took at GEC this time, so I'm glad if it helps others "see."
Excellent Ebony Sarah! I'm jealous that I didn't see that one in the case to pick from!!
Oh, it never made it to the case(!). I was fortunate to be nearby when Charlie started opening the knife tubes marked as Seconds, helping pinpoint the "why" (a fun exercise).
As soon as this one (the only
ebony 2nd) was revealed?

But then again, I wouldn't have been able to get this one if that was the case. I loved all of them. I almost bought the ones that looked real light, they matched my Walnut TC very well.
Carrying mine again today!
Well, you did get a great one. :thumbup:
It looks like a lot of the Ancients have a relatively clean bolster. I think I like that.
I, too, prefer a cleaner bolster, although I appreciate the effect on the others. I've heard that the scale (black stuff) should be relatively easy to remove, for those who might want to try?
Is the Harlequin something specific or did you name it that?
It's not something specific, just the (re)use of a term I first applied to a barlow that had one red bone cover, one brown-- a "harlequin effect."
My (original) Harlequin barlow:
Thanks for the photos, Sarah, and hearty congratulations on your new ancient barlows!! :thumbup::thumbup: (I think that's the first time I've ever used those two adjectives together.

)
It's a nice combination, one must admit.
