Bill caught wind of my determination to not use caplifters on my Barlows, because I have never seen one on a traditional Barlow.
He presented me with a surprise box of Soupbones when I got to the factory, for which I was delighted!!!!
Then I saw his devilish grin as I opened them, and saw some of them had cap lifters!!!!

What to do?? They are beautiful knives!! So I signed each one with a disclaimer!!

As Bart Simpson said, "I didn't do it!!

We are having a good time!!

I look forward to seeing more pictures. Thanks Rob, for posting the knives.
I hope more of the people pics show up soon!!
Night all!

I'm confused... Did GEC actually make a Beerlow, or is that a mod job?
Surprisingly, yeah! Charlie explained below.
Man that thing is awesome and has some of the best bone I've ever seen on a TC!! Looks like you have an older Tacoma like me too. :)
Sure do, '96

I was surprised and excited. I just really wish I could have stayed longer/made it to the picnic.

Charlie is not kidding about the disclaimer ! He had all the cap lifter tubes initialed with the disclaimer ! :D

Thanks for the comments guys. I was at a disadvantage when uploading that one pic on 4g network.

It took forever !

I will make up for it when I get home. ;):D

Dan - you sure we're busy !

It's a good thing this hotel room doesn't have a couch, Primble, or I'd be crashing on it for sure!

I bet your jaw hit the floor Charlie....great surprise!!

While others obviously cleaned up on the first day, I only left with 2. The nicest grain ebony in the bunch and a parchment bone with a twist. On the normal ones, the darker bone is in the middle of the scale with the lighter bone being to the outside where they shape the handle. This happens from the dye being sanded and buffed away. In the case of this knife, the handles were put on backwards....accidentally flipped over. So the heavier dye lays to the outside now since it didn't penetrate deep enough to darken the middle. Only a handful of them got made that way!! Charlie was kind enough to forever remind me of this on the tube. The man can write backwards!!

It was great meeting and speaking with you Charlie....and everyone else that I was able to meet. I'm looking forward to next year!

Found this basic Bear & Son yellow Delrin Barlow for sale in a lumberyard yesterday - half stops, good snap, not bad for $22.00 - carbon steel too. OH

The soupbone is looking fantastic on the specials (soup beerlow:eek:), and I'm also really digging the lambsfoot blades and "ancient" bolsters, they came out beautiful Charlie! Congrats to you guys/gals who got one of those beauties!
