What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Jack - Thank you for the photos! Glad you had a good visit. It is only fitting that the Scratted looks to be right at home there! :D

Your photos have inspired me to break out the family portrait! ;):D

I absolutely love the Spey blade; someday I'll luck into a Soupbone Day's Work to make this set nice and symmetrical

I second GT here, you have some really choice knives and great pictures of them Gus, thank you for sharing

I feel a little foolish! But proud too!!
It is tears of joy I shed this morning, over the love you all share for these Barlow knives!
I never imagined people collecting sets of them! Using them daily as well!
Jack looking into the history! People spending extra time and money finding a rare one - it is all overwhelming!

Thank you all!!!!!

You deserve to be very proud Charlie :)

This thread is pushing 600 pages and shows no sign of slowing down!

You have certainly earned the pride! These TC's are simply a joy to collect and carry. I've been through my share of knives and tools, and nothing brings more happiness than talking about, hunting; finding, and carrying a new TC.

Well said Wundergussy! Like Jack said pushing 600 pages and over 1 million views certainly speaks to the fascination and desirability of the TC. Charlie thanks for your vision and foresight on these incredible Barlow folders. I am still looking for some of the early ones and the hunt for them is just plain enjoyable--like searching for treasure, TC treasure that is! Lloyd

Charlie, you should be proud, this thread and your resurrecting the quality Barlow pattern with the TC's is something to be very proud about.

Not only the TC's but the deep appreciation I now have for the vintage Barlows, most of them I learned about because of this thread. I really enjoy when you or other members post their latest vintage finds.

Anyhooo, Charlie Noyes is changing the direction of his collecting a bit, and we have worked out a purchase and trade beneficial to both of us. He has graciously sent me his Robeson Barlow collection - Thanks Charlie N!!

Here they are, (accompanied by some colorful art to offset my usual yellow background):
