Barlow Enthusiasts,

Hopefully you don't mind a question in this wonderful thread.

Is there a barlow with a full size clip and full size sheepsfoot? I have perused the majority of the 635 pages but haven't seen one. I love the look of the Days Work Barlow, but wanted to know if a Clip+sheepsfoot 2 blade existed. You are hereby obligated to post a photo if you own one.

Cheers

Closest you'll probably find is the Original run of Northfield 77 barlows which had a full size clip and full size Wharncliffe.

Glad to help, that's what we're here for! I sold that knife off long ago, but I can tell you the Wharncliffe was a friggin' laser. That tip was a needle. I didn't like the nail nicks inside the swedges, so I let it go, but it was a very, very nice knife when I did have it.

A real beauty Mike !:)

Pretty Case Dean - from Paul Hilborn ?:confused::confused::)

I originally posted these in the "old knives" thread but after going back and reading all the posts in this thread I feel like this would be a better place for them.

Clockwise from bottom left in the first pic: 2-blade Keen Kutter with a clip point in sawcut bone, reportedly 1940-1960; 2-blade Remington (RB44?) with a clip in smooth bone, 1920s? (block-print "REMINGTON UMC" tang stamp inside circle); 1-blade spearpoint M. Furness & Sons in sawcut bone, mid-1800s?; 1-blade spearpoint Wolstenholm I-XL from Sheffield in jigged bone, post-war; and a 2-blade I-XL with a sheepsfoot in sawcut bone, post-war (likely much newer).

I have many more newer Barlows. My favorites are a couple of appaloosa Cases from the early 80s, a "matching" early-70s pair of red bone Cases (daddy Barlow and regular), and a Remington jigged bone one-armed man Barlow with no shield (allegedly a factory error, but I have no evidence beyond hearsay). I'm also getting quite a set of 20th century Queens with the covered backsprings (pretty sure the two Ontario Old Hickory Barlows I have are Queen-sourced). Maybe one day I'll gather up them all for picture day.

Criminally, I do not have a single GEC Barlow. I plan on remedying that eventually - maybe one of the 77's I am bidding on will be mine. :love-struck:
