What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Gus, as Philllll stated the other day, the different background drops are great - along with those lovely TC's.

I cant seem to be able to choose which or what is my Favourite TC, each time waynorthcutlery brings out a new version - it just blows me away, and I love reading and watching others display their pride and joy - because I know that feeling - I think it must be like a Father - thinking that no one could love their daughter more than he - but the next guy is thinking the same :o

Thats what I feel each time I view my knives, so I just want to replay a few older photo's ( forgive me as I struggle with time to take new ones )......

A very special TC, displayed at Rendezvous meet serial #31

Fantastic! And all except one are examples I don't have. Thanks for giving me some great eye candy!

In saying that Gus, I note it doesnt take you long to hunt one down :-).

Here is a lovely old ulster Daddy I picked up off Hal - Hal not so long ago put up a SNAP Thread - he mentioned this knife- NOT one to get fingers in the way of when closing!!

Man I just love the Mellow tone to these Bone scales.....

Mr Knife I dont think that waynorth Cutlery will do another Clip-point series, the reasons are because Charlie is a Traditional man to the Bone with such decent Morals that in respect to other collectors whom have one already - he would not go and do another release...
In saying this - Charlie Sir I dont think ANYONE - be it owners of the Long Pull or Nail Nick Clip-Points - would mind another release of the Clip Point - as if they were either nail or long pull the stamping would differentiate the knives, I know what would simply BLOW US ALL AWAY would be a Long Pull Match Strike pull Clip-Point - OR Spear - hows that for thought Sir?

If there was a match-strike long-pull spear with pen-behind in that glorious tan sawcut from the first round of clips, I'd pretty much be able to retire from the hobby.

A couple of years ago, Sue and I had the utmost pleasure in meeting our mate Mr. Jack Black - we had a awesome day - that day included around an hour and a half with the most famous man Mr. Stan Shaw - can i say it? - he was a beautiful man..... I will never forget talking with that legend, I wasnt too well that day but meeting both Jack AND Stan sure lifted my spirits....I loved handing over this precious Jack - to Jack :D

along with me on that Trip I took two of my TC's Clippie and my Ebony Spear, I asked Stan if he could pose with one of Charlie's knives.........
Stan Holding The first series Clippie......

I honestly felt like a wee kid in a presence of a King - Im terribly sorry if that sounds silly....

Here is Jack - Im the Neanderthal with the hat :o

Jack and Stan :)

That wonderful man took so much time to demonstrate to Jack and myself so many things....

I hope Mr Stan Shaw graces us with his presence for quite some time yet.

lol, now I would put money on it that this would be a false statement :-)

Charlie almost broke the mould with this one......

The Sheepsfoot Long Pull - Whew!

Sorry about all this, you can tell I am sitting down at a loose end - just about to get out and take my squeaking wee girl out for her walkies, but here is another extremely special knife ( please forgive the oil wipe marks-they look like scratches ).
A Lovely case Red Bone gifted to me - one that hailed from the same era as me ( no not 1920's ) this knife probably popped out the same time as me in '64.
I carried this knife on my Wedding day.

over and out

You must really carry this knife. I have yet to see one with all the black missing from the bolster stamp.

Yep, though your comment made me go look at some older pictures to remember if it originally had any blackening there. I don't think it lasted any longer than the blade etch. :D
