What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Fantastic collection, John! Each one is a winner. That Brazilian Rosewood is really outstanding!!

Those are so nice Tim. You have to quit posting pics....you always make me buy more.

TC clips are calling to me.

Haha thanks Josh, they certainly are some of my favourites.
Here's another photo of the special one that I refurbished completely.

It had led a pretty neglected life and had alot of that red stuff ;)

After some TLC and two days of cleaning the internals are nice and satin finished all around

Can't believe how far I've got behind with this thread :o

Here's the Barlow I had with me yesterday :) I sat in the very spot in The Fat Cat pub, where Duncan gave me the knife at our meeting in Sheffield a couple of years back :)

Tim, Jack & Lloyd - Terrific looking Barlows today gentlemen!:)

Great knife and a great story Jack.

Hear Hear Ron!

Jack, maybe in a few years we can repeat that experience! hoping so my friend.

Thanks a lot gents

That would be fantastic Duncan :) There's a heck of a lot you still need to see :) I hope Stan is still doing his magic then  I bet they still serve tinned peas with everything at The Fat Cat! :D

Here are three rounded bolster Barlows I have been able to sneak up on lately. Two Uticas? and a Cat

 Your sneaking grounds are a lot better than mine! Three absolute beauties, and I believe both that KK and the New Holland are in fact Utica-made.

You've made my day sharing these gems, thanks!

Well thanks TsarB for your kind remarks and other who have commented on my three rounded bolster Barlows! Yes I thought the two were definitely of Utica origin. Lloyd

What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

A Sawcut Redbone Spear that you pried out of Primble's hands! He got so tired of me bugging him for it everytime we talked, he finally caved in and sent it to me. :D

Roberto Thank you my friend!

Gorgeous example of a Barlow, Mark. I think the long pull spear TC is the best of an excellent series of Barlows.
