What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

This thread is the one I love the most along with the old knives thread, and the reason is the great knives that are posted here. The TC's have the charm of the old knives thanks to charlie and that what makes them so magical. After long time without a TC in my pocket I finally got one. I almost forgot how great they are.

That's one of my favorite ones, Mike. Nice score!! I like the bone handles, and Spey blades are the hardest to find in antique Barlows. That model always reminds me of the years-long searches I have undertaken to find the old Speys!

I agree Charlie, I had spear, clip and sheep foot, but I like the spey the most. The design of the blade with the swedges is outstanding.

I'd give four bucks for that Forbuck Fork!:D
You've forked up a juicy tidbit of info, Jack!
I love it when that happens! Now I have to have a knife made with Forbuck bone on it!

They all look great, but WOW, the diamond edge looks outstanding. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I just adore nicely aged smooth white/ undyed bone.

I'm so sorry to hear so Paul, I'm glad Buddy is without pain now though and hope you're doing alright. Best~

Thank you Ron, GT, SadSappySucker and Al--your kind comments are much appreciated!

Paul sorry for your loss. It is hard to let go and say goodbye to man's best friend! Think of the priceless memories you are made the beneficiaries of because your paths crossed.

All the best,

Lloyd

I'm so very sorry, Paul. And I understand the pain. I lost my Scout in November, and it still hurts. So much so in fact I've retired as a dog trainer. The inspiration he brought me landed my only TC Barlow in my hands. That knife is very special as I know I would not have it were it not for him. I know they'll be waiting for us someday.
