Here are three Barlows I found at the OKCA show recently. I sure didn't see very many vintage Barlows for sale. From the top Simmons (EC Simmons), HBS & Co. and a Remington with some sort of white synthetic? handles.

Nice finds Loyd. That SIMMONS stamp just sings.

Charlie, Dean, Lloyd, Augie, Phil, Harry, Tim and Mark...Thank you all. When I saw it posted I thought "WOW, I won't even be able to type I'll take it and it will be gone" I was surprised to see that it lasted as long as it did. I felt the price more than fair but still wrestled with the idea of buying another knife. I didn't have to wrestle long until I came to my senses and told myself, it's meant to be:D It really didn't take much to justify why I NEEDED it:o:D

These will be amazing. I have not posted much lately. Super busy. But I just had to comment on these beauties. I am carrying my TC New Day spay blade as I type. It's such a pocketable knive. I am sure the #14 Barlow will be even better.

Will the release of these 14s slow the new runs of 15s? Are you firm on the TC label on the bolster?

The form for forging the #14 "TC" bolster is complete - carved in stone so to speak - (steel actually). So I am firm - can't change it now as it's too expensive. It is of course a smaller version of the well-known TC!
I will continue with the 15s, but less frequently - I can only make so many knives per year! I will stick with the "traditional" principles I have touted over the years as much as is practical. I might use some different woods for wood handled knives; that's about as far off course as I wish to venture.:)

I'd love to find out what some of the unknown woods of past centuries actually were!!
