What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

I didn't forget about you, deltaboy. My shipment was apparently running late, but according to USPS it is waiting for me in the 'box at home. I'll have it out to you in a day or two.

(What the blazes is going on with USPS lately? If they can't handle the slow season then just how badly will the end of year holiday rush blow up in their faces?)

NO Problem I got a wonderful Hammer Brand Equal end Jack that is basically brand new yet 70+ years old off the bay. And I grapped a black Smith repaired stockman this past 3 days .

Lick Creek Barlow comparison shots:

Copperhead Sawcut 15 and 14

Yellow Heart Lick Creek next to Osage Orange for size and color comparison. This Yellow Heart is to die for. I was shocked at how beautiful the wood is when I first got it out of the tube. It absolutely glows!

Two Lick Creek Barlows together

IMHO, the two most attractive TCs, Copperhead Sawcut 15 and Yellow Heart 14 (the O in IMHO is for opinion, YMMV)

Those look fantastic Dean, thanks for the comparison pics. Looks like another home-run  Well done Charlie

Thanks for the pictures, Dean, especially the comparisons.
And thanks for the comments Jack and Alchemy!
I love it when the pics start coming in!!
I should get some Barlows in hand later in the week.

I get my shipments after the dealers orders have been filled. The SFO is my doing, and GEC ships directly to the dealers. The order never comes out even due to the vagaries of production, so I order extra, and get the "left-overs", so to speak.

My #14's arrived today. They are beautiful! I added a #25 Barlow for scale.

They look good. I especially like the looks of the copperhead saw cut. Nice work, Charlie and GEC. How about a run with clip blades next? I'll probably miss the 2 minute ordering for those as well. Ha! But it's good to see that the project was an overwhelming success.

Very nice, Dean! Looks like you got some pretty Ragg-y bone on the pile side!

Thanks, Phil; yup, just a smidgen of ragg. :) I was hoping for something closer to the 15 copperhead in color, but this one looks more like traditional saw cut on the mark side. Which is good now that I have one in hand.

I can't wait to some of the variation others have with theirs.
