What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

How nice is it to get two COOL TC's in the mail on a hot and humid day:cool::thumbup:

Both 2013 releases, a saddlebrown saw cut Spey and yellow bone Clip...

Been on the look out for these two for a while, thanks Lloyd:thumbup:

Dear Paul, I hate you. Love willy! :D

Great pics everyone! Congrats on the new finds. Lloyd, glad to see you kept a few good ones! :D

I just got a new addition, too. Finished out my soup bone barlow wheel!!!! [/QUOTE]

Wow! (I seem to be saying that a lot lately.) I mentioned somewhere recently that a soup bone collection would be cool. I didn't realize how fantastic it would be though! Thanks for showing that, Phil.:thumbup:

Here's my soup bone L. :)

This is such a nice thread. So many beautiful knives, old and new! I once had a single sheepfoot TC from the early days but was forced to sell it. Every time I log onto the forum I see a TC somewhere and think about whether I should try for another or not. They are extremely attractive pocket knives :)

Double wow Phil!! Amazing collection (said with a touch of drooling envy!) I am hoping to make a soup W soon, soup bone collecting has become my obbssesion..err.. I mean healthy passion.. :D

Dean you have two excellent examples there, said it before and say it again the individuality of the red soups make them one of the best knives on the forum

Thank you, Drew and GT! :)

Drew, does your comment mean you have a soupbone A? Or, put another way, three of them?

I can't imagine the effort that went into Phil's collection.

Another wow from me, Philllll!
And I like the "L"!
And all the other pics too!
I have mine in drawers - inspired by the pics, I pulled 'em out today to have a look!

Great photos gentlemen! I didn't want you guys to think I SOLD all my TC Barlows:D I couldn't bring myself to to part with these beauties. Lloyd
I'm glad you saved these beauties for yourself Lloyd. Thanks to you I got my first #15 (sheepsfoot) without having to sell an organ. Many thanks!

Oh man... SUCH beautiful knives everyone, Philllll the soup bone dog.... man thats impressive my friend!...pure jealousy here my friend!

Luger matey - I am SO glad that you hung onto those stunners!

Now heres the question, I cant quite answer it myself...as each TC posses just that little bit more - or a little bit different magic than the last run, BUT ... have these two been beaten by any other TC in your opinion..... Im sure this is a question that cannot be answered - or can it?......

BEAUTIFUL pair of TC's Duncan my friend!!! a difficult question to answer but my answer would be no:confused:

And as you pointed out each run has its own "special" nuance. As a knife user first and collector second I find it interesting the constant evolution of my likes. What I mean is I recently fell for the single blade TC's and of all the blade shapes I am currently smitten with the single blade Spey "Days Work". Before now I never gave it much consideration. Boy did I deprive myself and a unique blade shape:o:thumbup:

Headed out for a bike ride now and will ring you later my friend:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:
