What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Thanks for the nice comments everyone!

The soup bone wheel was a long time in the making. Hopefully one day I can show off a full TC wheel  (I'm gunning for you, knowtracks! :D)

Dean, I got a big kick out of your "L". The bone on that sheepfoot is spectacular.

Duncan, two beautiful examples there also my friend. Those PPPs are tough to beat.

I'll echo the same sentiments Duncan! That 1st set is tough to beat!!

I'll keep you in mind Philllll, IF, I ever decided to sell
But I have already promised the big kahuna that IF I do sell the collection HAS to stay together!
But I don't see it happening any time soon. :D After all I should at least wait till ALL the TC's that are ever going to be made, are made, before it can be a "complete collection" ;)

Thanks Dave :D

Not counting the 1 of 1's, I'm only 5 or 6 knives behind ya :thumbup:

I think Evan is even closer!

(speaking strictly the 15's here)

Congratulations to both of you!
I didn't realize that you were that close to a fulllll set!

Dave

Sure would be nice to see the complete-to-date set, Dave!

Or even a complete-less-six set, Phil!

I think I have a complete-less-85 set...:D

Thanks Dave!

Hey Dean, Dave showed off the full set a while back in this thread, although I'm sure there have been a few added since then!

I've considered doing something like that, but the thought of getting them all back in their correct tubes was just too daunting

Yes I would love to see more third cut stag, I'd even take some nice genuine stag barlows. We haven't seen that yet. I probably shouldn't of sold my third cut but I couldn't bring myself to use it.

I'd love to see some nice genuine stag barlows but correct me if I'm wrong, I don't think we have or ever will because stag is a fancier/more upscale material reserved for the Northfield line, not for the Tidioute line a la Charlie's TC. Hence why there was the emergence of 3rd cut stag.

My favorite handle material of all, 3rd cut stag. I would love to see more of these in the future!

Beauties Phil and Justin:cool:

Phil I think when GEC posted a preview picture of the 3rd cuts yours and mine (gifted mine to some guy in NZ:D) where in the picture minus the blade etch:thumbup:

I know the picture was posted in this thread, I just don't have the energy to go back and look:o

Oh man... SUCH beautiful knives everyone, Philllll the soup bone dog.... man thats impressive my friend!...pure jealousy here my friend!

Luger matey - I am SO glad that you hung onto those stunners!

Now heres the question, I cant quite answer it myself...as each TC posses just that little bit more - or a little bit different magic than the last run, BUT ... have these two been beaten by any other TC in your opinion..... Im sure this is a question that cannot be answered - or can it?......

Nope. That spearpoint sawcut remains the best. It is the quintessential barlow.
