mrknife, 2nd cut stag has existed for a long time. Cutleries used up their sub-beautiful stag, often jigging or texturing it. The difference is, 3rd cut reaches the "marrow" in most cases.

That spearpoint sawcut remains the best. It is the quintessential barlow.
