Thought I would post a family shot before I sell a few. The most I have owned at one time so far. Really hard not to fall in love with each and every one.

In BOLD...Don't do it Drew, back away from the edge, it's not worth it, believe me friend things will get better:D

Just joking Drew (although there is some truth in my words) You have a wonderful collection there buddy:cool::thumbup:

Drew!
How can you split up the children my friend?

I too think- ok it would be great at to own just one - two - ok three or four knives...but how- HOW could you begin the cull?
I think about it - and then punish myself for thinking such disgusting thoughts and buy a few more :)

Question from a newbie in GEC's:

Why are TC (Toms Choice) more expensive that other GEC's? Are they made better or have better quality control?

Paul and Duncan.. lol actually laughed out loud reading your posts! :D But I hear you... I love my little collection of TCs, some I just feel drawn to more then others and it's not always apparent right away. I have no delusions that I will get them all, so I focus more on finding ones that make me click, the three I am selling are amazing knives, perfect knives, but I felt it better to make them available to others to enjoy and continue the hunt.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know which division of Boker made the 49* series of Barlows? Was it the Solingen plant or the Boker USA one?

They are short special runs with limited availability. They also have the large cast bolster...... I belive it is cast anyway.

Those bolsters are actually forged, under controlled heat conditions!
They required a huge, reinforced die to stamp them out!!

GEC is the only company that can do that process, currently. The results far surpass engraving or etching. I also prefer it to laser cutting!
Forging produces an "Old-Timey" finish!!
Yummy!!
