What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Oh my. The ones that have "divots" (surely not the correct term) are superb. Alas the money tree has finally run dry. Sigh.

Those "innie/outies" are the last of the Spear and Clip blades for this year! (There's hope for your wallet yet Mr. Bad!)
Spaced out over the next 7-8 months you will see the Sheepfoot, Spey and Razor Mains, probably in that order.

:D

Belly Button Barlows!

Me and my big mouth!!
There's a whole new terminology evolving from this thread! Our Grandchildren will read this stuff and ask, "Whatever were they thinking? Or taking??"

Maybe we could think up another name, hmmmm?:(

Best work fast, Charlie, if you don't want Belly Button Barlow to stick. Alluring alliteration, and all. ;)

Then, there's

Okay, so that doesn't work either.

Very unusual looking bone on these Charlie.........probably over thinking this but, shin bone is used for most bone on knives.......how about "T" bone, as in Tibea.

Those are looking very Appaloosa-erish Charlie, this Thread just does not stop throwing surprises our way! but

How about calling it a "Soup Bone Barlow"! Or maybe "Slim Pickin's Barlow". "Dog Bone Barlow"? "Stock Pot Barlow"? I dunno Charlie, but yer gonna have to name it something!

Some interesting names coming up!
There's hope for the name yet!
I like this BF National Think Tank we got going here!!

I was taking a look at what I have so far, of the 15's. Two single blade spear ebony barlows, one yellow bone two blade spear barlow, one clip two blade antique bone bone barlow spear and a pile side pen two blade ebony barlow on the way. Not to mention the Queen made Robeson barlow I picked up on Saturday, and my Queen Burke small barlow. These barlows are addictive. Yes, I know I have to get some pics.
