What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Since I’m retired now I won’t be planning anymore 5 Day’s Work weeks! ;)

I love the Day's Work line up... really really cool!

Paul, TxJohn, Archivemoto, Jsdistin, all great pictures and even better knives!

... and your's as well Dispatch, I've yet to acquire my own Spey TC and the Day's Work in hopefully either saddle brown or soup bone will one day join my lineup. I'm trying for a single blade from each year, in each blade type, in each cover family. A '12, '13, Spey, Stew's, and what may become my grail, a third cut stag are what I will be hunting. Though the stag being the only horn that I'm aware of in the TC family, I'm sure that one will be my own white wale.

This started life as a saddle brown spey. The late BigBiscuit modified the blade.

I think it is the only drop point TC (so far).

Nice mod by Bob LR.,I have the same mod, motivated soley by making contact with a hot electrical wire. It arched the hood on the spey so the mod was required. I'll post a pic (did post a pic in the past, just not sure what thread) a bit later:thumbsup:

Here you go...

Nice spey mods you guys! I still regret selling my spey in yellow bone, that one is beautiful Paul. Speaking of mods.. just got this guy back from Jfowl31, swapped the micarta with red stag scales =) I am very happy with the result and if anything he put it back together with even better fit and finish then it began with.

Nice find! The bone on those old Case Barlows really had character. I don't run across them often, but when I do, I grab them up.

Thanks! I was surprised to see it! Yes case used beautiful bone back in the day. Hard to pass one up that is priced right:thumbsup:
