What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

So, I was digging out the Stag TC Barlow for Stag Saturday, and came across these rare ones, so took a couple of quick scans!! The top two knivesView attachment 1152790 View attachment 1152791 View attachment 1152792 are examples of Evans checkering skills, a bone ancient and an Elephant clip! The middle spear is the prototype TC from the first run!! Next is a perfectly re-handled Stag example (Evan again), and then an Elephant gift from Bill at GEC!
Treasures from years of producing TCs!!!:)

Thanks for all the comments and "likes" everyone!!
Nice knives/photos Augie and Jak!!

Here are the alternate sides from my pic above.

All STUNNING Charlie:eek: I am fortunate to have a gunstock Walnut spear of yours that Duncan gifted me and Evan checkered...it's a very special knife;)

I hope y’all don’t get tired of me posting photos of this TC so often. ;) It just happens to be one I carry a lot! :D

Ok Ron, I think you've crossed the line as to how many times a certain knife can be posted in this thread, I know, it's a crazy thing to keep track of but that's what I'm here for;) in my unscientific "keep track of knives being posted" duties this one exceeds the limit. Punishment? yes, I'm sorry but I feel punishment has to be adhered to in this case, I'll pm you my shipping info so this "rule breaking" knife can be sent off (to me) for rehabilitation training and evaluation research. Don't worry Ron, it's fair and honest research and I'll keep you up to date on it's progress and IF things go well, it's quite possible the knife may be returned to you in a couple (3/4) years from now:eek::p

You’re a great friend Paul! :p And you know the saying! What are friends for?:eek::D

Excellent Solingen cutlers from the mid 1980s make good traditional barlows, both curved and swaybacked.
