What multitool or SAK did you buy today

Added the one on the far right to the herd:

Another first generation TI. Out of 14 Charges, I have only one second generation and no Pluses. Lucky for me, TIs are my favorite, and I prefer the slender needle nose of the pre-Plus jaws. Thanks for watching! T-A

Delivered! Pretty nice, too. The lock on all the tools is very nicely implemented - not intrusive at all, and still very easy to close any tool with one hand. The blade doesn’t quite ‘flip’ open, but it’s easy enough that I’m not gonna complain about it. It’s certainly easier than deploying any of the tools on the Bond I bough it to compliment in my telescope accessory/tool bag, so it will likely be the tool of choice when I don’t need pliers. Cool thing I noticed is the spring on the scissor doesn’t activate until the scissor is fully opened and locked, so it stays closed and won’t spring open until it’s fully extended. I’m very pleased with the feel and build quality - very nicely thought out and executed.

Somehow I managed to miraculously snag these two pocket pinchers at a substantially discounted price. I'm still somewhat in shock over it.

Haven't been spending as much loot on knives lately, as I've gotten pretty heavily back into my fountain pen and ink collection, but this finally arrived after being ordered last year. It's a special build from Victorinox for the SAK Collectors FB page. The Mountaineer X, essentially a Pioneer X where the saw has been swapped for Vic's excellent metal file/saw:

I don’t do Facebook, but knowing cool builds are happening could sway me….maybe🤔

Leatherman Free P2 just got delivered. If I had checked into the P2 before I got the Bond, I definitely would have gotten this one. It’s just better in every way, from opening the pliers to deploying every tool. In fact the tools deploy even easier than the T4, which should be all the same mechanisms. The pliers flip and fly open like a balisong, just as the vids show. Gold stars to the designers for this one.

Not much of a buyer these days but as you know, if you frolic in the Bay, sooner or later you're gonna get caught. 🎣
This shiny Wenger got my attention and the pile side logo pique my interest. I was reminiscing the enjoyable years I had working with the company that used that logo and the next thing I knew I was hooked. 🪝

Having basically the same tool set as a Vic Sportsman (a favorite of mine) I'm looking forward to reeling it in next week.
Which brings up the question, Who caught who? :)

Nice James, at first I saw no need for the spear shaped file but oddly enough years ago it became most used next to the blade. Phillips, light prying, staple removal and a number of other uses. Have a great weekend!!!

Thanks Paul, pretty sure it's gonna see quite a bit of use.
Oddly enough those little files can also smooth a broken finger nail. The older I get the more that seems to be needed. 🤷‍♂️
You have a wonderful weekend as well and say hi to Duncan for me. :)

Two days ago I purchased the SOG at one pawnshop and traded some gun holsters for the Gerber at another. They had the Gerber tagged as a "Grappler", but it's actually a "Dual Force". All the better for my collection, as I already own a Grappler.

Gerbers, SOGs, Schrades, and Bucks are the bastard children of my MT collection. Leatherman is my first love (and EDC!). T-A

I only own a cheapo Wally World multi tool.
What would be a good middle of the road Leatherman style tool to get for my first one

Will you carry in a sheath on your belt, or will you pocket carry? How do you spend your day? What line of work are you in? T-A

I could carry either way
Photographer by trade but also handyman for a bed n breakfast
What tools do you need? Do you need separate straight edge knife blade and serated blade, or will a combination blade work for you? Do you need an assortment of Phillips and flat screwdrivers only, or do you also need the ability to use hex bits and torx? Do you need scissors, pliers, a file, and/or a wood saw? Establishing a list of what tools you need and what tools you will likely never use can help you pick the right MT for you.
Do you prefer brand new, or are you willing to search the Internet for good used tools to save money? Most of my MTs were acquired pre-owned, giving me greater functionality for my money in exchange for a few scuff marks. What's your choice? T-A
