It’s from 2008. Here’s a couple of screenshots of a Victorinox 2008 catalog found online. There are a few other fixed blades in the series too. I remember getting it together with the 4.2242 & 4.2244 versions too; they should still be around somewhere in storage 😊
 
Got a Victorinox climber in white i was going to use to replace the pre 1992 fisherman i let my wife use that replaced my Champion plus she always got off my side table and used on her toe. She uses the scissors so the climber seemed perfect at $33 and i like SAK’s with corkscrew. That said there is a Super Tinker at my local Wallys for $34 that may be my wife's new surgical instrument. Decisions, decisions…….

Might be totin this soon. Not sure what it is. 4 layers. I see a inline philips and magnifying glass, blades, and can opener and bottle opener layers but can’t make out the mystery layer?
I told my son to send picture of all the tools but he didn’t open the middle layers?
Gotta be scissors making it an Explorer?
I gave him the knife many many years ago and can’t remember what it was i gave him?.

Looks like an Explorer, David. That “mystery layer” is a pair of scissors 😊
 
I’m sure it is an Explorer. I was at his place blowing all the leaves to the road for annual pick up and he texted me said i could just grab it while i was there.
Couldn’t get his screwed up door unlocked or i would have the mystery solved.

Picked this up at Wally’s today. Guess i’m totin this at the moment. Super Tinker. Yeehah!!

Giving my never used Spartan a whirl. I usually carry a Spyderco Para 3 around the house clipped to my shorts but heck this Spartan in the bottom of my pocket makes more sense. Don’t really need a rapid deployment tactical knife around the house. If i go outside i always add a firearm in this case one that’s in my jacket pocket as it’s cold outside.

Notice when i purchased this they had the normal silver box but this one has a red and white box?
They were selling for $45 but the add online said $34. Guy behind the counter pointed out the fine print “online order only”. But he worked his magic and forced a price match. $11 is 11 dollars. Just not sure meaning of the difference in the box? Old stock or special sale? Me shrugging?

I'm sure that one could do a lot worse than a classic red Spartan for totin' about the house.

No i just said that i was totin it to keep with this threads spirit. It was put in a pouch placed in the spot where my wife kept my Fisherman ready to take over her surgical needs lol.
Not a gift just meant to replace my pre 92 fisherman i purchased in the 80’s.
Can’t help it that Victorinox makes the best scissors on the market. I use them almost everyday myself.
 
Did i ever mention how much i enjoy watching this thread. Are there any other threads dedicated to to talking about SAK knives in bladeforums or a SAK forum somewhere else i am unaware of?
