What sort of Job do you have?

Soft tissue therapist. No occasion to use a knife, except for a wayward strand on a towel lol. :)

Still, fixin folk is fun :D

I've been an electrician for the past 21yrs, IBEW LU38 out of Cleveland, Ohio. Got my start back in '86 down in sunny Spring Hill, Florida, :cool:and somehow ended up in the god forsaken place...lol. I get to use a knife daily:thumbup: for a number of cutting duties, and rotate through a few work EDC's, my favorites being my Spydie Paramilitry, Ritter Grip, and my Native. At home my rotation consists of a Ritter mini Grip, Caly3, and a Mini Dejavoo.

7 1/2 Years in the United States Air Force as an Electronic Warfare Specialist on the A-10 Thunderbolt II, aka. The Warthog.

6 years Working for N.E.S.T (Nuclear Emergency Search Team) DOE Bomb squad for Nuclear weapons.

3 years to present - Install and maintain covert surveillance equipment for most state and federal government agencies and DOD contractor in Iraq and Afghanistan for counter IED surveillance

I have carried a folder of some sort for all of these jobs and in my current job a good tough folder sure comes in handy.

City Worker so I don't do a damned thing all day. Just kidding! (kind of). My edc gets used for a wide variety of tasks as you can expect from working in the streets doing concrete, paving, painting, fixing signs, sleeping, pump stations, emergency response. Oops, did i say sleeping in there??

I'm a lawyer, employed by the state. Work at home on a laptop at the kitchen table. No clients, no suit and tie, no billable hours, and get to watch my kids grow up. Luckiest person I know.

Carry a folder and multitool, and am proof that you don't have to be a normal workin' stiff to get some good use out of them. They're just handy, you know?

I'm the Education Advisor for AgResearch, a government owned research company. I carry a Swiss army knife for genaral use and when hunting a Smith and Wesson kife for skinning etc. I make (stock removal) and forge about 20 knives a year. But two young daughters certainly cuts in to the time.

I am a humble 911 Dispatcher. Actually, I'm not humble, I'm bitter and condescending. Only my circumstances are humble.

At any rate, there's no need for a knife in my work beyond opening envelopes and trimming loose threads from the hem of my pants.

I'm a landscaper... Or at least, I'm learning how to be a landscaper. Knives are a crucial part of my job, whether it's for cutting open pallets of paving stones, slicing tree ties, cutting in sod, or sharpening pencils, every day of my work necessitates the carry of a knife.

Most people use snap-off utility knives, and I definitely see the function in them when it comes to cutting in sod. No knife on the market can stand up to that for a day without needing some serious resharpening.

For a normal EDC, I most often carry a Benchmade 705 limited edition in D2... That thing holds an edge like very few other knives I've found... Every so often I'll swap in a Spyderco Atlantic Salt, although the edge holding isn't up there with the Benchmade's D2.

On the weekends I work in a knife store, so that's when I carry my fancy stuff, like my Sebenza and SG2 Blur..

I've got my coworkers and crew members sold on the usefulness of a good knife.

I do an online comic strip for a living.

Being self-employed at 27 is basically the best thing ever.

basically i do mostly structural steel on ships. Mostly fishing boats but currently a private yacht. So i do a lot of welding, cutting with a propane torch, grinding and such. I use my knives for anything from cutting line to chipping the slag off my welds to cutting up my lunch.

i'm also "into" fish, as in aquariums, fishing, as in rod and reel, shooting, hiking, camping and outdoors stuff in general.

Typically i carry a quality folder like a spyderco native or an emerson hardwear knife or a kershaw speed bump, and a SOG multitool and now a leatherman mirca on the keychain and then i have an old file knive in my tool bag and a spyderco police. And ofcourse a ton of knives in my truck. I think right now i have a cold steel canadian belt knife, a kershaw junkyard dog II, a KA-BAR large heavy bowie, a gerber guardian, a gerber gator fixed blade, a CRKT cruiser, a ColdSteel ODA in Carbon V and probably some more i forgot in the glove box.
Now that i think about it maybe i carry too many knives...

my job is having fun lol.

honestly, right now i am doing some commercial & residential real estate investments,

I have been a froester for most of my life and a part time knife maker for the last 2 years. Im working as an English teacher in Taiwan just now. but il go back to cutting stuff up in about a year, i cant think of anything better than using a chainsaw for a living !!! and i already miss being out in the woods every day, although Taiwan has some really sweet jungle and forests i can only manage a weekend visit.

I'm an Export & Int'l Transportation Manager for Israeli Division of US (Worldwide) Telecommunication company. My office EDC is Leatherman Squirt, Spyderco Rescue (old) and Jester on my keyring.

In the office - opening letters and sometimes cutting something:-(

I have been a retired college instructor for over twelve years. I next used my lifelong woodworking interests commercially as I chased the arts and arts & crafts show circuits - mainly with my woodturnings. Teacher's Retirement kept the lights on. CTS and a resurgence of my childhood asthma/allergies pretty much ended my woodturning/carving career. My EDC was a SAK while I was teaching - and a Buck 301 as I carved to stay awake at the shows.

Nowadays, whether it's a Buck 110, Kershaw Leek/Blur, or my new Spydie Native, it's main function is to prove it's sharpness by shaving the hair off my forearm - or slicing a tomatoe for a sandwich! My den is full of shelves and display cases containing my G-scale model trains (My handle - 'Stainz' is an Austrian 0-4-0 steam engine used by LGB, my favorite train model maker, as their logo.). My latest interest - and last part-time job - was as a range officer at a public range... and reloading ammo for my revolvers.

Odd how hobbies/interests change... this house is full of my hobbies!

I work as a real-estate salesman. I have a degree in electricity as an electrician.
My family is from a small island in the west of Iceland. My knives get used alot there when hunting seals and birds, skinning them that is. Also I have a boat there and when around boats a knife always comes in handy.
My main hobby is fishing, both salmon and trout, lake and river. Although I haven´t been fishing in the sea or for salmon for some time.
Salmon is getting too expensive for joe's like me so we mostly fish trout.
And almost entirely fly fishing. Haven't use bait for years.

Systems Coordinator for a large Exxon Mobil jobber although I'm not sure what that means. Basically I'm a Sys Admin at the office and Techie out in the field. (48 locations in Northern IL/Southern WI) I use my knives for cutting the dreaded clam shells, poking a bigger hole in my cappachino cup, cutting cat5 wire in the field, opening letters, whatever else I can think of.... Plus, the ladies at the office are used to seeing my new customs so no one freaks out when they see me walk in with a Busse FFFBM or such. In fact they want to hold them and cut stuff too. I've got them trained well.:D

I actually use my Prybaby quite a bit for prying open computer cases after some idiot spills pop or cappachino down the side of it and doesn't tell anyone about it. Works like a dream and drops into the bottom of your pocket.:)
