What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Got chores to do to prep our place for the upcoming winter. We've already got snow just above us at 5500 feet (we're at 4800 feet) with night time temperatures dipping into the twenties. The heaters are set and have been turning on for the last four nights. This Buck 2-blade (clip and sheepsfoot) 301 Stockman came in yesterday's mail. It'll get some use today and maybe throughout the whole weekend.

Visiting an old friend this weekend, will have Redmeadow and new Buck 301 (September Buck of the Month) with me.

If you don't mind me asking, how thick is the blade grind on these Buck knives? The forum knife, while a delight to hold and fondle, was pretty darn thick edged.

Love carrying this when I'm wanting to keep things light. #15 pattern is such a good slim carry IMO. Especially when its a barlow! Anyone else have a #15 they like to carry?

Yup, lots of folks around these parts carry a 15. For example, see post 201,565, posted earlier today Augie.gif

Rare two knife day for me. Took a drive into the mountains thinking I could get a few photos of some fall colors. Things weren’t as brilliant as I thought they’d be so I never took a single photo until I got home.

I love large knives, and that’s a pair I could love large.

Modern technology can be awesome sometimes. I can watch the Cardinals game and peruse the pictures of y’all’s awesome knives that you picked today on the same screen.
As my lil grandson Remy used to say (to EVERYTHING)...

But why? 😜

I can hardly keep up with this thread and the Mannix reruns!

Nope.
But only because I do not have one.
I do, however have some single blade jacks I made out of TL-29s that are the same size. I think of them as my po’ man’s GEC 15. And yes~ great carry size.
Pretty background- where are you?

Nice to have you here.

Agreed on the forum knife, I’ll do some side by sides when I get back into town, since the forum knife isn’t with me this weekend. May be Monday, unless someone / Ed wants to beat me to the punch.

This was taken near Pigeon Forge, Tennessee while I was on my honeymoon! Just wanted to post a prettier picture of what I was carrying today lol. And that’s cool. I like the TL-29’s! I haven’t gotten one yet but it’s in the plans for sure.

Occasionally the evening comes around, I sit down to look at he forum, and I realize I never took a picture. Today was one of those days, so here is an evening patio shot of the TC Barlow I carried today.

Love it! Which covers?

I ended up with six.

It's a bit much. When I sit down, I have to stand up and rearrange my ballast.
LOL! :D Don't go near any deep water Jer  ;)
Natural Moose bone Lloyd trapper in the pocket today. Happy Friday y’all!!

A lovely Lloyd Taylor
Thank you very much, Jack!!! :)

Hard to beat the trusty old stockman, unless you add a beefy Bagpipe Lambsfoot; outstanding pairing for today, Jack! 😁:thumbsup:

Toting these two covered in ebony today, the Bagpipe Lamb was a kind gift from Jack Black Jack Black . :)
Thank you very much JJ, glad you're liking the Lamb :)
Thank you Jack. It’s another one of those moments that makes you sit back and think. Specifically here I think of the knife community as it is today. There are times when negativity takes over with questions of motives of others, fairness of processes and drops, and anxiety over knives. That won’t go away I understand, but I couldn’t help but reflect on how I have been with all of these things and yet there are children now without a father. I have young children, and he was younger than me. I’ve probably rambled and went kind of deep, but hopefully perspective can take over without having to wait for the forum knife to be in the review mirror or any new gec release for that matter.
Tragic events like the loss of your friend are a reminder that there are more important things in life than knives, even though they are what brings our little community together. Sorry, once again, about your sad news my friend

Hope everyone has a good weekend. Got my Hartshead Barlow, and an Ulster BSA Scout, kindly gifted to me by screened porch screened porch :)
