The conkers are inedible horse chestnuts unfortunatelyNo chestnuts around here, but I often go to the forest preserves to pick up hickory nuts. The best spots are where the grounds are mowed under hickory trees. Which means the walking trails are close. Most avoid me as if I’m a crazy homeless guy, but some ask, as I’m standing under a hickory tree, “what are you looking for?”
“Apples”, “ acorns”, “gold coins”, are some of my wiseguy answers, but I usually just say hickory nuts. Zero competition except for the tree rats.
Does Conkers involve trying to hit each other in the head with chestnuts? That sounds like when we’d stand fifty feet apart and shoot bb guns or bottle rockets at each other.
All you needed was a pint in the Fat Cat JJ!It looks like I had a "Sheffield Weekend"Thanks so much, Jack!!!
Your beefy Bexoid Lamb looks like an awesome hard work knife; the "Lucky Duck" is a very cool companion, as well!![]()
