The food that comes out of your garden is really impressive! I wish I had half the gardening skills you have.293 Trapper cuz it’s TuesdayView attachment 1654311Last weekend, I yanked up all of the winter squash. Chopped all the vines with the mower, and put them in a compost pile. This is an eating variety of pumpkin. Cut in half lengthwise, scoop out the seeds, sprinkle some nutmeg and cinnamon on the inside along with a little butter, and roast in the oven. We had 1/2 of one the other night, and really liked it.View attachment 1654312It’s also time for saving some seeds. These are garlic, cilantro, and spinach seeds.View attachment 1654313
I know what the kids are getting for Christmas now!
Cool Imperial and unbreakable 'conker' Rachel!Back when kids had to make their own fun. We used to play a game of rolling the seed balls from sycamore trees across the road, trying to time them with the tires of the cars passing by. They made a very satisfying POOF when run over. Acorns made a popping sound. We were either easily amused or very bored...
Today's Random Tuesday carry is an old Imperial Easy Open, a gift from @t.willy . I made a fancy fob for it.

Thanks Jeff, I imagine they make good slingshot ammunition!Jack, your Brit version of Dennis The Menace pin with your Charlie’s Lamb fits right in with my imaginatory, but misguided idea of what Conkers is.
Sadly, the Chestnut Blight killed most of the good chestnuts, and left the horse chestnuts!
That’s a lovely old Navy Jack, and your little monkey fist is fitting tribute for a sailor’s pocket. Nice job tying that!
Not a game, because harvesting black walnuts was serious business to my Grandpa. He discovered a good way to remove the messy outer husks without staining your hands brown. He’d bring sacks of them up from the ozarks, and lay them in his gravel driveway. Then drive over them for a few days in one of his Volkswagons. A VW isn’t heavy enough to crush the nuts inside, but once the husks were off, he’d rake them up, hose them off, and crack them with his vise.
Great pics![]()

Thanks, my friend, but to tell the truth, I envy you growing tasty meat! The food that comes out of your garden is really impressive! I wish I had half the gardening skills you have.
I really like what you did with the spey blade. Gets a person thinking….
I wish our primitive ancestors hadn't been such a bunch of pinheads. It isn't worth trying on a second-hand hat.I'm looking forward to wearing my tweed cap again![]()
