What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Santa Barbara, one of my favorite places on the planet! Have a great getaway, and Say hi for me! I think we'll be there in February.

I had my Fall Creek along as I raked and hauled leaves, cleaned gutters, trimmed some trees, and generally wore myself out.
The little knife didn't do jack, but it was nice to know it was in my pocket!

Like your little fixed blade Gary . I am sorry you did not get to use it though . Those John Deere seats just seem to split . Both of mine have probably have 2 feet of John Deere Yellow Duct Tape on them . We are happy to say that our leaves are finished for this season .

TC Barlow for me today.

That's Totally Cool with the spearpoint blade and grand saw cut bone!:thumbsup::cool:

Carrying a double-bolstered Lambsfoot for Random Tuesday, and my Spring Street Barlow :)
Splendid white/red combo, Jack!:thumbsup::thumbsup: (I never really grasped all the controversy over the color of the 2021 BF Barlow, but it sure looks dark red to me. 😁 )

I'm Celebrating "Two Blade Tuesday" with this Beauty...

That Case/Bose Norfolk knife and JohnDF slip are certainly cause for celebration, John!:cool::thumbsup:

That white Sodbuster Jr is very elegant!:cool::thumbsup:

Your knife with its ever-changing patina is a work of art, Kevin!:cool::cool:

The red, white, and green in your photo is very patriotic!:thumbsup::cool: (Especially for those of us from Bulgaria, Hungary, Italy, or Madagascar. 🤓 )

Is that bead an oven-roasted turkey??? 🤓

The story behind the knife I have ready for this weeks Wooden Wednesday carry ... because we share stories on the porch ... I think.
About this time of year and about 10yrs ago, I was awakened from an afternoon nap on the sofa by a *CRUNCH* sound.
This No.8 from the Opinel Slim Series had fallen from my pocket. A then wee pup, Mason, found it for me.
Mason did eventually learn what was appropriate and acceptable to attempt to destroy, thank goodness.
I mean, I only need so many priceless things and stuff ya know. Shoot
Good boy Mason !!! :)
...
Cool story and pics of Mason and his adventures, Jim!:cool::thumbsup:

Boker & Rough Rider today, both with nice snappy blade action. So they named this Boker model the 'Club Knife' and I'm curious why? Any ideas?

Going into the town centre to take clothes to the homeless then going for a booster jab.
So travelling light this is England after all.

The wear on, and care for, your old Alox SAK is admirable!:thumbsup::cool:

The weekly rotation really smiled on you this week. Four highly functional, purpose driven knives.
Thanks, Jeff. :) When my rotation deals me 14 knives each week, plus my 4 EDCs, and possibly a couple of "free choice" knives, I'm almost guaranteed to get some good ones!

That's a rugged looking Canoe, GT. 🤠

Best knife Case ever made as far as I'm concerned. 🤠
Thanks, John; I'm quite fond of that canoe. :)
Interesting ambiguity/interpretation of your comment about the "best knife" or "best knife case"! :p

...
Nice canoes Gary, and that stag Sowbelly looks as good as ever. 😎👍
I appreciate the comments, Todd!:thumbsup::cool:

Thanks for the kind words Jeff . Actually I have been getting Out & About more lately , but I still let Nancy do the driving except at night . Tomorrow will be my last day of Physical Therapy and I will be glad to have that behind me . Nancy & I even picked up our last 10 loads of our leaves . We usually have 55 loads every year with our John Deere Collector System which has a 19 Bushel Capacity . Our Kids and a neighbor picked up the rest of them . Take care my friend .

Harry
Congrats on the continued progress with your rehab, Harry.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks, Harry. Finished up our leaves today. Also got the snow blower ready for the season. I'm going to have to look for some John Deere yellow duct tape!

Combination of good lighting, good photography, and a really good looking knife.
Thanks Amir Fleschwund Amir Fleschwund I really appreciate it. These smart phones somehow have the ability to make me look good. :D
It’s been a good week of great knife shots from you all, so thanks!
Knifely version of comfort food today. Trapper and whaler. Of course, the lil jack and SAK are with me as well.
This photo shows the old and the new in my little corner of woods. European Buckthorn~ OUT! The red leaf is on a 3ft red oak seedling I’ve started.View attachment 1686247

Is that bead an oven-roasted turkey??? 🤓
It did help me unwind Gary, absolutely love Case Chestnut bone. And yes, that is a Turkey/chicken bead. I thought that would be fun for November. Thanksgiving is probably my favorite holiday. 😊👍
I appreciate the comments, Todd!:thumbsup::cool:

Thanks much, Dave.
I am jealous of your watering can. Two weeks ago, I wandered the big, monthly flea market, and saw quite a few vintage galvanized metal watering cans for sale, but apparently they are a hot decorating item for suburbanites, because the prices were ridiculous.
Great stag, by the way...

These two Case in Stag today :

Harry
I also like the red shields. I haven’t seen those before.

That's Totally Cool with the spearpoint blade and grand saw cut bone!:thumbsup::cool:

Thanks, Gary. Another home run designed by Charlie.

I really miss the days when you could pick up the old bombproof, made to last items for cheap because they weren't brand new or popular. People have gotten wise, or like you said, vintage is trendy.

Thanks, this stag has also been helpful as worrystone therapy . 😁

Thank you very much my friend . The Tang Stamp shows they were made in 2008 . They were gifted to me by one of my Daughters for Christmas . She is the one responsible for me to get into this hobby . I like them a lot but seldom carry them and never use them .

Harry

Great pair, Jack. 🤠
I hope we get to see the Forum Knife cut some cake one day. ;)
Thanks pal, I'll try to arrange something ;) I don't usually have cake at home (because otherwise I'd just eat it all!), so the only time I get to cut cake is on my Thursday market trips. There used to be an empty stall next to my mate's tool-stall, which allowed us to set up a small tea-making and cake-cutting table. The stall has been taken now, so we've lost the space, and partly as a result, there's been no cake-cutting the past few weeks. You've given me an excuse now though my friend ;) :D
Love that pic John! :D
I enjoyed seeing your photos of the museum, Jack, and you had a thrilling threesome of folders to take with you. I know you're partial to your stag HHB, but that rosewood HHB is a fine piece of cutlery as well!:thumbsup::cool:
Thank you very much Gary :) I really should try and carry my OTHER Hartshead Barlow more often :)
Game time... Go Hawks.
Another great pic :)
Many thanks, Jack!!! :)

A spectacular Sunday slicer pair today, Jack; loving the file work and the stag on your Damascus SFO Lamb!
Sincere thanks JJ :)
Toting these two Sunday Schatts. :)
Stellar Sunday Slicers there my friend, I love the aesthetics of that big Rope Knife blade

Thank you for your kind words Gary :) I don't have many folders with red handles, (or ones with green handles either), and am very pleased with the colour we got :)

Wishing everyone a happy week :)
