What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

The ends are very solid,it has a good heft and feels strong.
I think he’s talking about “Shell Condtruction” which was used on many Imperial and Colonial knives to keep costs down and target their thrifty market.

I do not think the Frontiers were shell construction, but I have been wrong before...

Finally got the light right so the blue Nut actually looks blue. Carried it again today while my knee got fluid drained and cortisone installed. No leaf raking for a few days. :(

[misread something]
No, the Frontiers were not shell construction. If they're what I think they are, they're like this Colonial (bearing in mind that Imperial shared their patents with their little brother Colonial).

The handle material on this has shrunk longitudinally, resulting in the loss of one snap-on bolster and revealing the tabs on the others.

Still carrying my pony jack today, that makes a couple good weeks in the pocket now. Really like this knife a lot. I was also doing a bit of comparison with my white owl that flew in over the weekend. Both are very nice.

My Owl has the same scratch toward the end of the back of the main that others have pointed out, but is otherwise pretty much perfect. Opening the clip first there is no issue with rub. I haven’t opened the pen on its own, but I suspect it would be ok with a gentle touch. There is very little room in the well, but the blades are very nicely centered and not touching at all. The covers feel really great, and the shield is nicely inlaid.

All that said, my preference is still leaning toward the pony jack. Growing up with a 33OT as my pocketknife, this pony is practically my definition of a pocket knife… clip and pen same end jack. It has slightly more width and thus fills my hand slightly better with a more solid feel to me. And I probably give the slight edge in looks to the pony with it’s same side blade configuration. Can’t go wrong with either, though.
