Glad to be home.

Happy Sunday All... and Go Hawks!
Great-looking pair buddy :)

I'll instruct the butler to be careful Barrett! :D ;) Love that pic my friend :)
Thank you kindly, Jack!!! :)

Very fancy pair of pocket pals today; a super cool choice of Sunday totes! 😁
Many thanks JJ :)
Grabbed my stag covered Lambsfoot for Sunday. :)
A super Sunday choice my friend :)
Alox Knife of the Week (ending tomorrow) is a Victorinox Cadet II, which I prefer over the current Cadet model (thanks, Ken):

Classic Cadet Gary :)
Thank you. The screwdriver was the perfect tool this evening, for scraping the old wax out of the menorah for the first night of Hanukkah. 🕎
Hanukkah sameach Rachel! :)

Have a good week everyone

Here are some quotes on which I thought I'd be commenting on Thanksgiving Day or the following weekend. Best laid plans ... o_O

Great group, GT. Thankfully today is my Friday so I have the rest of the week to process your change up...😌😆
What a great looking senator, I can see why you call it “Man Jack.” Thanks for the reverse order curve ball Gary, keeps us on our toes! 🤣🤣🤣
Okay kids... Who broke Gary?
I knew Porch dwellers would be able to handle my backward approach. 🤓
Todd, you may not know that one of the reasons I named that lambsfoot "Man Jack" is that the guy who ran the GAW in which I won the knife lived in Manchester, England (so it's similar to Man United football in terms of naming).

Carrying a couple that came in the mail yesterday. It’s been a great couple of weeks. 😊View attachment 1688462
Congrats on your new finds, Todd!:thumbsup::cool:

Terrific trio Gary :)
Handy trio Gary !
Handsome trio of knives, Gary.👍;)
Thanks, Jack & Steve & José. :)

I hope all our US members have a very happy Thanksgiving Day tomorrow, and that you get to spend some time with your families and loved ones :) No holiday here tomorrow, so I'll be working my fingers to the bone at my local fleamarket, and sweating over a hot chip butty ;)
...
I remember sweating over a hot chip butty on Yorkshire Day, so I don't envy your plans, Jack! 🤓
Your stag HHB and 2021 BF knife make a striking pair!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

The shoulder injury hasn’t stopped me from doing much, except of course throwing out the guys trying to stretch a single into a double or the guys tagging up on a fly ball! 🤣
Gary, that’s an impressive playing career…for an “old” guy! 🤣🤣🤣
Yeah, at my age, I suppose I've been an old guy for most of my life! 😁

I can understand the Chrismas Carol Marley association. I'm a big fan of W.H.Morley. Partly because they're well made knives
...
and partly because they remind me of The X-Files. :D
...
Today's carry:

I never watched the X-Files, so I missed that connection. ;)
You've posted that top knife with H & B on the blade several times recently, but I don't seem to recall seeing it before that. Is it new-to-you? How about a brief description of the knife?

...
I came across a Christmas Carol connection in a small Yorkshire market town (on 'The Wizards Quest') a few years ago. I have a knife photo with that door-knocker, but I've no idea which knife I was carrying that day! :D
...
Interesting connection, Jack! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

...
Thank you, Gary.
I did have to put a new engine on that old shredder, because several decades sitting neglected in my shed took their toll!

That string trimmer shredder sounds ingenious.
Sounds like it was worth replacing the engine, Jeff.:cool:
The string trimmer shredder was quite effective, but when I'd dump leaves into the hopper, there would invariably be twigs and small sticks among the leaves, and that harder material was hard on the nylon strings doing the shredding. I had to replace the strings more frequently than I had thought I would.

On the way home from an appointment yesterday we went past where the Sand Hill Cranes congregate every fall just to see them one more time . Last week there were probably 5 times this many .
...
Today I finally got back out to my work bench in Bay 3 and found a knife that had been used , lost , and forgotten about . It is a Case with CV blades . Just oiled it down to get the process started .
...
Today I am carrying a Silver Stag lock back in Elk and a Hubertus ??? in German Stag that I got in 2017 ? while in Austria . Each are always carried in slips .
...
Both are O.K. but neither are the same class as a GEC .

Harry
I've spent my entire life as a resident of the Midwest, but I don't think I saw or heard a sandhill crane until I was 50 years old. The first time I ever heard one was a real "Jurassic Park" experience!
Congrats on finding your old Case.
Your pair of stag knives are handsome examples!:cool::thumbsup:

You have to throw it HARDER! 🤣
😁 You're probably right, John, but the harder I throw, the farther the ricochet!

...
Cool chestnut cv muskrat, Gary. Although I tend to like all of the chestnut cv knives.
Another Nice Chestnut Case Knife, GT. 🤠
Thanks, Bart & John. :) Like you, I'm a big fan of Case's chestnut CV:

I carry today this Victorinox alox KL 89.

That's a splendid Dutch Army Knife! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

Desirable knife, Will, with its stag swayback handle!:thumbsup::cool:

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Part of our tradition is a ice cream turkey which the neighbors come over for and love or is it the booze?
...
That ice cream turkey is amazing!!:thumbsup: 🤓

Happy Thanksgiving Everybody

Bringing my #73 for any cutting duties on my plate. ;)
Superb Osage Orange #73, John!:thumbsup::cool:

After some fruit cutting today.

First day in use, and already giving me wonderful colors and paterns.
...
Your amazing patina pics have me thinking I need to try some experiments in which I do not immediately rinse my knife after cutting various kinds of food!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Happy Thanksgiving!
...
The fork on your B&SK got me thinking that, since our Thanksgiving meal was attended by just my wife and I this year, maybe I could use my relatively new Ka-Bar hobo knife, but my wife found the idea objectionable. 🤓

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone :)
...
W😲W!! That's stunning!! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Very dignified pair of ebony knives, José!:thumbsup::cool:

I can relate. Although this year, a neice’s husband and I were sequestered in the kitchen carving turkeys. We might have sampled ~ strictly for research and quality control...
It's a dirty job, but somebody has to do it! I'm sure everyone appreciated your sacrifices, Jeff. 🤓:thumbsup:

That Zippo shield is cool; it almost makes a word when it's upside down! ;):cool:

Great-looking Barlow Gary :)
Hope all our US members had a great Thanksgiving :) Bagpipe Ebony SFO, and an Old Friend for me today
Thanks, Jack. :)

You should definitely try that!

I never immediately clean my blades after i use them. I only clean them after i'm done eating the fruits that i'm cutting. If i'm using the knife for meal prep i still dont immediately clean it, but i dont wait too long though...since i dont wanna 'force' the patina.

I just wanna let it 'rest' for a little bit... give it some time to do it's work. Usually a couple minutes will do!
I love taking and posting pictures of patina. To me it's such a beautiful bonus of carbon steel. Definitely one of the reasons why i prefer carbon steel over stainless...

What's your opinion of the Boker? I've been eyeballing this exact knife pretty hard since I first came across it.
I really like it, but I like Boker and I like Micarta so…😊 It’s super light, very well made, and has great action. 😊👍
I knew Porch dwellers would be able to handle my backward approach. 🤓

Oh…I was thinking “Man” as “Man sized” because it looks very robust. I get it now!
😄👍
Congrats on your new finds, Todd!:thumbsup::cool:

Thanks Gary, but I had only intended to CONSUME the chip butty, rather than also make it :D In actual fact, I ended up having some healthy Mediterranean lentil soup! :D ;)
Thanks, Jack. :)
Grand choices for you! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:
Thank you again my friend :)
