Cadet II Plus

Would I be correct in assuming the background for your Cadet would look considerably different if you took the picture today, or did the weekend storm not come that far inland?

I took that pic in June I think. We're knee deep in snow this week!

The Outlaw Jack for the day, it's been too long with all the new arrivals requiring all the attention :)

Flying today, so it's a Vic Compact tucked into checked baggage.

Here's a pro-tip for anyone who uses the same bag for woods-bumming and airline carry-on: a 4" firesteel accidentally going through the X-ray attracts a lot of unwanted TSA attention. Luckily the older gentleman TSA employee just shook his head, handed it to me, and said "I haven't seen one of those since Boy Scouts!"

Today my latest arrival, GEC stainless White Owl in Light Chestnut Bone. It's magnificent! My thanks to a Famous Name here who helped me get it:cool:

This old knife. Nice bone no shield. 3 7/8 inch. 2 spring 3 blade. Marked High Carbon Steel U.S.A. Most likely Camillus?

Got another early start and another long day lined up for tomorrow, plus I have to travel and go through a couple of large train stations, so it's going to have to be just the Vic Classic :(

It's been a while since the last time I posted here, but the knife in my pocket didn't change much since I'm finishing a little whittled surfer for a friend of mine.
The #62 is a great whittling pattern but It needed some mods to fit my needs, crisps lines are great looking but for real use they create awful hotspots, so I rounded the almost all the corners plus the point of the coping blade(spine). I wish the grinds were as in the BF 2012 knife but that wasn't the case so I regrind the two small blades very thin. Now the knife is almost perfect very comfortable while whittling because of the sway back shape.

I'm seriously thinking about turning the pen blade into a trailing point for curve slicing cuts in tight spaces but I'm not sure because this will ruin the look of the knife altough the function will be improved a lot.

Very nice Duane!!! How I wish I would've grabbed one of those special run of Barlows. They truly harken back to the day of a working mans knife---great patina and stump as well:)
