What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Beauty! And this could be a source of a thread in its own right Car Carry :)

Thanks! Great idea for a thread Will, I'll participate (you wouldn't believe all the hardware I keep in my vehicles!)
Count me in, I can count at least four (however one modern with a hole in the blade) currently kept in the center console and driver side door storage, could be more in the back, have to check.

Just got back from taking some mail to the P.O. and was listening to Willie's Roadhouse which was playing a Tom T. Hall song . Do you folks remember Old Dogs and Children and Watermelon Wine ? One of my all time favorites . It reminded me of the many old dogs that we have had , our children , and Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren and my 2 favorite GEC knives . It just so happens that I had them , and still do , in my pockets . My first GEC and my first 73 . Pictured below on another 2022 Calendar photo of Grandfather Mountain , N.C.

Harry
I sure do remember Tom T. Hall, Harry!
Brings back a flood of good memories from when we lived in the Ozarks. We could pick up the highbrow fm station from the university up in Columbia if the atmospheric conditions allowed, but day in and day out, it was country am radio. My ‘65 Mercury Comet and Dodge Power Wagon only had am radios anyway. The Comet, which we bought from a widow for $500, was a remarkably reliable car. And one I could repair myself. Several times I had to prowl old junkyards for parts. One time, I needed a rt front spindle. I found a ‘65 Mustang that had it’s right front end pushed into an overgrown bank covered with multiflora rose. All three other wheels had been stripped, but after the owner pulled it out of the brush, I got my right front spindle.
Selling the low geared monster Power Wagon is one of my biggest regrets...

RIP The Storyteller!
I think he probably carried a Barlow.

Beautiful, buddy. She’s been well loved, and is ready for more.
Fall Creek and a Boker Club in some nice desert ironwood. The background is a rug in my den/office/man cave. Figured JohnDF JohnDF and the other trout fishermen would get a kick out of it.
Have a good one!

Wow! I fell about five pages behind here, so had some catching up to do. Instead of keeping up yesterday, I fired up the propane heater, and made something in my garage/woodshop.
One of the fun parts of building a guitar is making your own jigs, tools, and templates.
If I were to buy them, I couldn’t afford this hobby.
Fret wire comes in a tube like this:51F13453-93A2-409A-901E-62C95091A906.jpegIt has to be bent to match the fingerboard radius, so I made this fret bender out of closet door wheels. The top wheel is mounted in a slot so I can adjust the radius.B8A2A86C-E3A1-46EF-8CED-C42BB1E48E01.jpeg
And today, which is Woodnesday, I’ve got this Taylor’s Eye Witness Lambfoot along with this unusual Ulster Electrician. The butt end is fat and rounded, which makes for a comfy grip as a screwdriver.2D213136-5243-4D5C-8EB9-2C32DFFCA232.jpeg

Giving the Remington another go today. No trip to town planned but will make a trip up to the mailboxes this afternoon. I took these pictures in subdued (ok cloudy) lighting to highlight the jigging. Just superb - GEC could take a lesson. As I've said before, Camillus did such a great job on these knives.

Nice work Jeff, I could do with a bigger version to straighten my walking sticks :D Nice pair of knives too :)

Oh ya, I like that rug, Gary. 🤠
Unfortunately, it makes me want that Boker Trout knife even more... You aint helpin' 🤣
I've looked at that Boker Brookie more than a few times! It doesn't help that Sacto Sacto keeps posting it! :D

My wife, who treats me much better than I deserve, found the rug somewhere years ago.
A smallmouth bass rug would be cool!

😁 I’ll give you a break from it today......maybe.
No, I love seeing it, but I’m getting weaker each time for sure. 😊👍

First the Boker Brook from Bart, now the Boker Club in ironwood on that rug from Gary, almost too much to bare! 😊👍
Good Morning Porch Friends.
Carrying a couple of my favorites today.
Wow, those look good on the lightening wood John, but then again those would look good anywhere. 😊👍
