First, yes thank you. My daughter and I are basically back to normal! Mom still has symptoms of a heavy head cold~ yes, she caught it too, but all’s good.Nice pairing Jeff, I see a Peabody Coal etch on the Case. They’re based not far from me in St. Louis is there a story behind that knife?
Hope you’re feeling better by the way.![]()
That was from a truckstop. I told the waitress I wanted to buy it, and she checked with the owner. He looked up his supplier’s price for a case, and came up with $4.00 for it. I have a couple of others I got the same way, and a heavier one my wife bought for me at Puckett’s in Nashville. The logo has long since worn off.Amir Fleschwund I see you're sporting the heavy diner mug this morning. You may already know its history but I just learned about it: the mug was made to fill a Navy wartime contract for a heavy-duty, non-sliding, caffeine-delivery device. The mug was created and manufactured by a New York company that made porcelain insulators for power lines of all things.
Love me a rounder. Got one almost like it.Small Rounder and Giant Mouse for today.

Rough Ryder offers a lot of bang for the buck
I love carrying this little Rough Ryder barlow. I know it's not expensive or made from super steel but it's comfortable to use holds a good edge for quite a while. I usually just have to strop it to bring it back to shaving sharp. A knife doesn't have to be expensive to be a good knife. I have some expensive knives but this is one of my favorites.
It’s only on spear points that I have really seen the problem, the pull on a clip or sheepsfoot sits generally way above the secondary blade. The knives pictured in the discussion were all spear points. Check @Gevonovich’s post just above and it displays an obscured nail nick, again on a spear point.Saw the discussion about obscured nail nicks. Here’s one that is well done in my opinion.
