Yep Bart, the sleet is finally gone, but if our pattern over the last few years holds up, we aren’t quite finished with winter yet.

Been away for a few days and not willingly I might add, but duties have called and have been answered.

Yes, finally!

I don’t smoke, but I like Zippos. After my son passed away, I found his Zippo among his things and put it in my pocket. Bought a bottle of Ronsonal, and some apare flints, and got used to carrying it. Comes in handy for the smoker, fireplace, and when I worked for the retired nurseryman, huge brushpiles of my prunings.
Somehow, I misplaced it, so snagged another at the flea market. Of course, I then found Jason’s, so now I have two. I am resisting becoming a lighter collector, but next time I go to the flea market, and if I see a cool Zippo like yours, and if I can chisel them down to five bucks like the last one...
And I just realized this coming weekend is the monthly flea market!
Sorry for rambling. Here’s another knife photo. I have been carrying this pointy CRKT in a very secure sheath, in my pocket for the last few months. It’s copied from a traditional Japanese pattern, but made in the USA.View attachment 1755965Edit to add~
I like to wear this boonie hat. It was my son’s. It’s faded from the Afghan sun, and has been there done that.

As it turned out I actually used the blade, the punch and the screwdriver today

...taking apart part of what I put together yesterday so I could put it together right this time

Had six Allen heads to deal with and I managed to bugger up two of them. Uncharacteristic of me. I've had this bike a long, long time and I've never messed up any of the bolts up before, and here I go and do two of them in one day

I thought for sure you might remind me of my shyness to blade etches when I posted my carry today.
I traded a neighbor for two knives yesterday, both with blade etches and had to laugh at myself last night.
I will have to be careful not to over use them and lose the etches I suppose .......................... or do what I have occasionally done in the past and let patina take care of them.
I am sorry for your loss.
