What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I have to agree with you Old Engineer; I think Walleye taste the best too. But I’m still partial to Crappie fishing. They’re the easiest to fillet in my opinion, and I generally eat them two to three times a month from April to November. Lookin’ forward to the spawn!😃

Y’all are stirring up some great memories from when I worked bouys on the Mississippi River. Unfortunately I can’t find any pictures of walleye, but I used to fish for them to eat when we would be in Prescott, WI where the St. Croix and Mississippi meet. I would say it’s my favorite. Northern Pike and Crappie are really good too.

Really nice workers Jon, those anchor shields on the Otters are really well done.
Thanks Todd. The anchor shield and being German made are what draws me to it.

Nice catch Jon! 😎👍

One day, my grandson will have my fishing stuff.

Very cool👍 I’m sure he will appreciate it. I know I appreciate my Grandpa’s fishing gear.
But remember when we saw our grandfathers or grandmothers using them? We thought they were awesome and could only hope that one day we would own such grand fishing equipment. 😊
For sure. Much like knives were just a tool back then, I don’t think my Grandpa was too hung up on his fishing gear. Now there is a certain amount of cool factor to his old True-Temper rod.

Inconsistency.....but doing the same thing all the time is madness too isn't it? 😄 I dislike brass bolsters but here we are, not keen on etching on stainless....bails are not my favourite...BUT I do like Blonde Horn, stainless liners, very sharp from the box knives, strong W&T, Barehead and the Zippo now it's converted to practical butane😻

Relish the day out there wherever you are.

I'm coming to a point where I'm going to downsize my collection of knives. This was reinforced yesterday when I visited with a long time member @RDaneel. Dean is/has been doing this as well and I've discussed it with Duncan @Campbellclanman over the last few years. I won't kid myself, I'll still buy a knife occasionally but will sell more than I buy. One thing is I never re-gift or sell a knife I was gifted.

This wonderful Harness Jack was gifted to me by my friend Duncan back when it was released and has lived a dutiful life of leisure opening mail since it arrived. However all of our mail is now sent to our furniture store and this HJ has sat idle for the last few months at home. Logic says if it's a keeper it needs to be a user. So her she is, all shiny and new like the day it arrived.

The one knife to rule them all. That one is an all time favorite. It has everything you could want, a beautiful and classic shape, great shield, a gorgeous awl, and the perfect fat spear. It even has a nice etch which adds to the character of the knife. Is it Ebony or another type of wood? It would be cool to collect all of Charlie’s Harness Jacks.

Good luck if you let some of your knives go. It is more work than you would think.
