When it's hot around here knives in my pocket tend to get pepper spots. I really envy some of the nice patinas without black spots I see around here.

I've been taking advantage of the cooler weather to carry this old PAL Cutlery jackknife. It's in such fine shape I'd hate to spot it up.

I got it at the Blade show last year to give to my nephew. The old thing is in such great shape I decided to keep it for the time being and gave him another knife. I know how many knives I lost when I was his age. He'll get 'em all anyway as I don't have kids.

It's a honey, and I'm sure had the factory edge when I got it. Does anybody have any idea how to determine age on PALs?

Carrying this 1920's 4" KA-BAR jack...pen blade has a long pull as well. Nice

Pfffttt Like we've never had a non-knife pic in this thread?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Let we wipe the tears of laughter away before saying, "be my guest."

OK, you asked for it. Top is a Sugar Pine cone, the longest pine cones in the world. Bottom is a Coulter Pine cone, the heaviest in the world. Imagine being under one of those trees when one comes loose.

For knife content, this one for wooden Wednesday.

Switched back to my first true favorite GEC. I worked this knife over in every way possible. Finally got the potassium permenganate just right on the stag and finished how I really like it. I have a few black arkansas stones but this one I am always amazed by. It is more coarse yet I still get hair popping savage edges. Leave it be or follow with the translucent for an even scarier edge. Love this one.

Hi, I hope this is not a silly question but what do you use the potassium permenganate for?

Kris,.

I have to say, these look wonderful, particularly that GEC.
