What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Great work Mateo

Please tell us more sir :)

It is an interpretation of the French classic knife " Yssingeau " model (it is the name of the village or was invented this model http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yssingeaux https://www.google.ch/search?q=couteau+yssingeau&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:fr:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=fr&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=00Y3UZjWE8q0tAbQyYHwBw&biw=1119&bih=666&sei=6UY3UaOvIoGstAb-_4CQAw) by Laurent Gaillard. It is inox steel rwl34 and of the stabilized coloured birch. There is more photo in my thread " stil life "

Rough Rider Half Hawk and Imperial DE 851 Slim Serpentine Jack, plus a quarter for size:

Blaine I just received a half hawk like yours. That's a heck of a knife for $10. Mine is sharp as all heck and the fit and finish is really good. Now we know there's at least two hawks flying around the 'burgh.

Simple Man, cool close-ups of the UN-X-LD shield and the bolster etch:

Were you surprised at how scritched up they looked, magnified?

Me, I'm staying with my Sawyer Barlow, in honor of current Barlow Birthdays over in Titusville. :-)

Yeah, I doesn't look near that bad in real life. In fact, I really had not noticed the pivot pin even until I looked at these.

BWT, while I have your attention, I love that black handled fixed blade you posted several times. I did not catch who made it. Is it a Flemming?

Here we go, this one.

I thought maybe, just because of the discrepancy I've noticed myself between real life and normal vision, and what even a 5x magnifying glass reveals. I especially like seeing the grooving around the serial number etch in your image.

Hmmm, if you're addressing this to me(?), the only fixed blade I have is a blue-handled THK (Terrio Knives). Maybe look again, and see who posted the one you're thinking of?

Yeah, the Serial number is nice and crisp to the bare eye. The shield well looks terrible that magnified, but perfect in hand.

As to your fixed blade, I see it is blue now, I just assumed it was black from the photo (edited to add your pic above). Very nice, I like it (one more for the "list") ;)

Thanks for that my friend, very nice looking knives :)

Great work Alex. How did you find fitting the bolster and peining?
The bolster went pretty swift, thanks to a 1/8" square needle file. The peining was a breeze, once I took the end of the tang down to fit the little nub. Thanks again, mate!
