What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

They really did a nice job with those, didn’t they? Of course, that’s usually the case with the knives they put their name on.

I should say that I may be slightly biased; AG Russell was my local knife shop growing up. I picked up this Boxcar Jack last fall when I was back home for a visit.

I love that Box Car Jack and in that cover as well. I have their Sunfish in those covers and it's a beautiful knife. Ya got me looking Barrett ;) :)

What year was that 77 made ? Love the single clip !!! 😲
Wish I had a Radio Jack. 🤔🤔🤔🤣
I love the 77's, but, often think that the NS bolsters are a downgrade. I know the thinking up in Titusville that the Northfields are the premium knives, but, I would be hot on a batch with steel bolsters. Anyone else agree with me or am I in the minority ? 🤔🤔🤔
I don’t own any of the Northfield Barlows as when I was first getting into GECs while looking for a traditional Barlow I was greatly influenced by a member who has gone on to become a great custom knife maker (I was a lurker back in those days). He was very much pro-TC and somewhat anti-Nf Barlow, thinking they were merely lesser copies…so I chose a TC and I don’t regret that I did so as I do prefer steel bolsters on a Barlow…more in line with the tough, no frills, workhorse, every man’s knife that was the hallmark of original American Barlows.5174FF1E-9398-489C-A63F-A74E7634A103.jpeg

Shhhhh... As long as the kids don't find out, all is good. ;)
That reminds me of serving chili and salad to a bunch of my wife’s family. I waited until they were full and complimenting my cooking before telling them the meat in the chili was venison, and the greens in the salad were dandelion.

I hope Bart Sacto Sacto knows I was just kidding!

Staying home today. Still healing from all the times I fell on the floor every time I was given a price for a stove, refrigerator, or mattress. Believe it or not, they actually had a bed (box spring, mattress, frame, headboard), that they wanted $7300.00 and change for. Anyway, I'm sticking with the SS Sowbelly today. Such a comfortable carry with three very useful blades.

I used to have to tell my kids every meat was chicken because it was the only thing they wanted to eat.
The best was when we went to Chinese food, we love BBQ pork, and we'd tell the kids it was Chinese Red Chicken. 🤣

His eyes seem to be saying, "I'm not a meat rabbit, not a meat rabbit." 🤣
The fairs are always so much fun for the Ag kids. Hope your daughter had a great time.
🤣 He’s far too cute to eat. Yesterday was the breeding show. My daughter didn’t win but still had a good time. She’s back there today for showmanship. I couldn’t be there today, but she called me this morning to tell me she won Champion Showman. She even got a belt buckle. She was super excited.
A couple of Bokers for me today. View attachment 1829326
Great couple of knives today, Todd. That copper one is going to look cool as it ages. Looks like it might already be starting to patina.
My Lambsfoot for today

I love that horn big un, John. 👍
Safe to assume those are chicken kabobs, and not rabbit.😁
🤣 It tastes like chicken. She still needed to show him again today. 😁

I knew, Jeff. It made me laugh. I hadn’t even thought about that last night when I took the picture. I was just grilling and hadn’t taken my daily knife picture yet.

Glad to see that I am not completely alone in my thinking Mark ! As I said, I do like my 77's quite a bit, but, I can't help thinking from time to time how much more I would like them with steel bolsters.
Very nice assortment of TC Barlows, by the way. My 15 TC's rule the roost around here, at least in my collection of newer Barlows. ;) ☺️

I think at least one of mine still thinks fish sticks are chicken 😆
On the Chinese end, I love duck - that’s much easier to pass off as chicken though lol.

That is some FANTASTIC news.
You must be very proud of her and she must be beyond excited.
Tell her congratulations from your friends on the Porch. I think she deserves an ice cream. ;)

Thank you very much, Bart. :)

It's like Santa Clause, never let them know you lied... just keep playing the game. 😁
I see you are packing your finest cutlery for the trip.... Have fun, my friend. 🤠
