Sod Buster Jr … A bedtime story when there were too many Blade Forum 522 Errors last night !!!

With me like an old friend. No matter what, through thick and thin. Reaching into my front pocket I gain reassurance, finding there, this pocket knife. More than an attachment, a feeling of kinship. Lost without it.

Have carried a pocket knife since almost as long as I can remember, to school, work and leisure adventures untold. Cut leather, cloth, boxes, bags, letters, cords, straps, whittled on a stick, never as a weapon, where has common sense gone? If I were to go through a metal detector at any airport right now, this pocket knife would be seen as a tool of mass destruction! I’m left perplexed. How vexing, how complex …

Idly and like the plight of a simple man, this pocket knife unmoved, does the least that it can. No oil changes no wedding band. Existing, surviving this life with all the time that most never venture to find before the last goodbye. Nothing to show, nothing to hide ... the Sod Buster always at the ready to trail blaze the countryside.

But scrap all the smoldering, winsome words ... the lovely odd truce made of letters. Trip over shoes which should still be for dancing and spin them right into the bin. Blow open windows long stuck closed with paint and push all the clutter to the sill. Cast notions and bias to the wind. Thus wordlessly held high to the light and closely examining this pocket knife from all angles ... My intuition twisted, almost missed the simpleness where so called wisdom depicted and pondered the boundless abyss of a staggering array of pocket knife choices, before my vision was transformed herewith and only just bears witness to this pocket knife’s selfless existence. A startling epiphany exposed ... I suppose if this were the only pocket knife I own, my collection would be complete.

And they all lived happily ever after. The End
Nice sodbuster short novel Brother Jim. I saw a young farmer eating breakfast at a diner the other morning. He had on a white mesh western hat, cowboy boots, and a leather belt sheath on his belt. A black handled Sodbuster was sticking up out of the sheath. I rubbed the bone on my Primble Barlow in my pocket a bit.

It was the Barlow that used to get carried by the local farmers in these parts. I suppose because the price of Barlows is up and because the Sodbuster has proven it's worth, a good Sodbuster will get the job done, no doubt about it. ☺️

Thank you @FuzzyH0bbit for gifting me this beautiful sawcut goldenrod TC to complete the set. Having a Golden Day!

Love it!
I’m scared to even have knife in a checked bag in fear of confiscation or theft… I haven‘t flown in years though.

I’m definitely a sucker for matching knaffs… Great looking pair!

Good evening, Porchenburgers! I hope I didn't miss anything important.
I've only been reading a tiny bit here now and then, while my mother was visiting for the past two weeks. (88 years old; we didn't want to spend much of our time staring at screens) She lives in NYC, and wanted to see some dark skies and stars, so we took a road trip out to the Hill Country. I decided to carry my new Gator 88, and it came in handy at a little picnic in Lost Maples State Natural Area. Unfortunately, it was too cloudy for stargazing, but we got to sit and watch some lovely mammatus clouds, sunset, and a lightening storm on the other side of the hills.

Good to see yo back! Breaks are good, especially when family is in town - limiting the screen time when needed is never a bad thing :)

Thought I'd included this in my previous post, but somehow I "dropped" it.

Congrats on 10 years of marriage, Taylor!:cool::thumbsup:
Yesterday we celebrated (in a VERY low-key way) our 37th anniversary. Those early June weddings must have "staying power". 🤓

How about late June? I’ll be coming up on 8 with the Mrs on the 28th; what’s your one liner of advice for my next 29?

Was out on job sites all day so current “working pair“ was with me

And, simply because it’s so small and is with me in my pouch or watch pocket the 14 as well. Even though I am not the best embassador for following directions… I think these ones are some sound advice 😂

Yes, not frequenting BF as much as I would like. The boy is on the mend from ALL, the wife had 7 year old breast cancer come back and caught us off guard (it was stage0 in 2014 and she had double mastectomy with full containment; came back stage4 in her bones). That and the mess going on domestically and abroad just has me anti-social these days. Not depressed - just numb. The economy has business near nil except for GEC releases. Hopefully my bad attitude changes soon.... ;)
Understandable attitude to say the least, Mike.
Do the bear you can. i’ll have a prayer up for your wife...

EDIT! Best you can! Try to bear it.

Hope things are slowing down at work so we can get out and fish soon.

Thanks, John. Not slowing down yet, but there’s an end in sight. I also hope we can get out and fish again soon.
And the suspense continues .....
