What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Thank you, Todd. :)
The sun really makes the colors... wait for it... wait for it... POP! (Cha-Ching). 😁
🤣👍
If you're only going to carry one, that's a good one to carry for sure. 🤠
Thanks John, the action is pure butter. 😊
I had this 1979 Case 6235 out for another thread and decided to just carry it. Getting ready to go to Tennessee tomorrow, and while packing the mail arrived, so I used the 6235 to open ...wait for it... a new box of knives! Bet y'all didn't see that coming :p

The box wasn't supposed to be here until Tuesday, where it would have sat in the PO until I got home, so kudos to the USPS. Normally I wouldn't order anything just before going out of town. The big black box holds the June 2022 Buck of the Month (beats the jelly of the month all to heck :D ). The BOTM's aren't as furious as a GEC drop, but this one did sell out in less than a day, so it was order it or pass. Glad it got here before I left. Its a non-traditional 830 Marksman.

The little yellow box holds a nail nick 284 Bantam. Lightweight and around 3.75" closed, it makes a good pocket knife. At $15 bucks it qualifies for Thrifty Thursday.

After today, I'll be off the grid for a week, maybe two. View attachment 1847760
Fun to get a box before a trip. Have a great time Mike. 😎👍

The first lynyrd skynyrd album on the way to the Osteopath, its realy growing on me "coming home" is my favourite this has a great version.

Then after treatment into the S/H section of the record store.

I bought Lightning Hopkins,Thin Lizzy,Transvison Vamp and Darts (just for fun).

I really wanted Slaughter and the Dogs it was in VVG condition but it was £60,I was nearly pogoing in the shop when I gave it a spin on the turntable.

Lightning is slow burning, growling blues, the Dogs is high energy punk, makes you want to punch yourself in the face 😆

Walked down the street carrying Lightning in full view.

One in a poor attempt at looking cool and two its how the Beatles and the Stones met like minded band members.

Almost as good the local Tescos has re opened, they used to sell 3 litre plastic bottles of cheap cider no ID as a kid necessary (many moons ago).

Now its in smaller bottles but still cheap, that Old Rosie is a killer one pint combined with a few other drinks can send you loopy.

I reckon if you drink the whole flagon you would wake up on Sunday in the local nick or on on a slow train to Scotland missing your trousers or something. 😂

Hang on I fancy a trip up North perhaps I should go back and buy some? ;)

I agree about the virtues of coffee cup patina, but only if you drink your coffee black (as one should)

I hope everyone is having a good weekend. My Voos showed up and I'm looking forward to getting it into toting shape.
Some people shouldn't be allowed near a Dremel.

I did not realize there was any other way to drink coffee than straight out of percolator on weekends and k-cup machine during work week.
Lol forward to pictures of those when in toting shape

Put these two in my pocket today. :)
That's such a perfect pairing JJ, you'd think those knives were made next to each other :)
Cool pic! :D
Nice combination Jer
Good Morning Porch Friends
Starting my day with my Usual Lambsfoot
Hope you're having a great day buddy :)

Looking good Pete :)
It's a good change of pace, Jack, but I'm looking forward to singing along with Paul Simon, "Gee, but it's great to be back home!" 🤓
Famous black/red pairing for you!:thumbsup::cool:
LOL! :D Thanks Gary :)

Just got finished with storm cleanup. Several trees down on our cul-de-sac. Had one tree snap off and land in with the turtles. No reptilian injuries to report. 😄👍View attachment 1847134

Now that the clean up is done I have these with me. View attachment 1847138
Glad the turtles are OK - and your family and property of course. The folks across the river here had a tornado go through. Lots of splintered trees, wires down, etc.

The covers on that little Case are stunning!
🤤 😍 😯

NICE ones Mike !!! :)
I too have a BUCK 284 (2013), but mine is a little different. Lockback with thumb studs ... no pocket clip and never was one of any sort
It's a super sharp and pointy little handy dandy grab and go around the house, that lives on my computer desk (with a few other knives LOL)
Thanks Jim :) I too have one with thumb studs, in blaze orange. I've never seen a 284 that had a pocket clip. I don't think they make them. I've found OHO with the thumbstud 284, doable, but awkward. Threw in the nail nick version since I was getting free shipping 🚚

Hope all is well Jon. Keep’em sharp. 😉👍

Hope you're going off the grid for good things and not for bad things 🤞
Thanks for asking gents. I typically take a technology hiatus in the spring and in the fall, but I was traveling a bit more than typical this spring and didn’t get a chance to. The Changes giveaway that HST HST did reminded that for the things I’ve set up in life to calm down my obsessive and addictive tendencies, which being overly tethered to my phone is definitely one of those tendencies. I’ll use the time to hang with kids and sharpen these knives!
