SAK, the official knife of golfing. 🤠
Pretty little Peanut, GT. 🤠

Two very handsome totes there JJ, and they go together well :)

The factory system in the USA, consistent tang stamps, and better record-keeping makes US knives easier to date - or so I understand! :D Sorry to hear there are errors in relation to those knives too :( People like to think they can date their knives easily, in a formulaic way, preferably to the exact year, but of course that's only very rarely possible with Sheffield knives. It seems Goins would be better avoiding Sheffield altogether  ;)

Mr P, Geoff Tweedale's book (Tweedale's Directory of Sheffield Cutlery Manufacturers 1740-2013) is a history of the manufacturers, rather than a guide to the knives they produce, but I think it's very well-researched, with few errors. The second edition is 'print on demand', and reasonably priced I think, particularly considering the wealth of information it contains

Hope everyone had a great 4th of July, and that you manage to ease gently into the 5th ;) I'm carrying my AC Lambsfoot SFO, and a Queen Trapper gifted to me by JohnDF JohnDF :)

What’s that metal piece on your key ring?

I’m digging the absence of the shield on that trapper. I think you could start a new trend where dudes purposely extract their shields just to look like that beautiful piece. You could call it “Negative Shielding”. No?
Two great knives, Jon. Welcome back from your break.
Thanks very much Jeremy! Nice to take a social breather every now and then. But also nice to get back to the conversation here on the porch.
What a good lookin, brass bolstered knife! Great photo as well. I’ve gone back and forth dozens of times deciding whether or not to pull the trigger on this one. I simply can’t get down with secondaries in front of the main. I wanted to love the Pony Jack but couldn’t for the same reason. Love to gawk at them tho!

Great looking knives Jon. 😎👍
Why thank you sir. I’m quite fond of those two clips.

Got an early round of golf in with a buddy before he leaves town. Had my SAK with me. View attachment 1862614

I’m digging that black on black look 😎

New Addition to the Family (pronouns are my/precious): full custom slip joint by the maestro, Vincenzo Balistreri, who is on IG under his name.
- Damasteel blade in a modified sheep's foot pattern, woolly mammoth ivory covers with a copper mosaic shield, and a mammoth lanyard bead. The fit and finish are as close to perfection as humanly possible.
- The pendant, from eBay, is Mokume Gane, to match the color of the mosaic pin.

Those two beautifully covered jacks look smashing together; I'm always taken aback by your SFO Lamb's marvelous stag! 😁 ;)

That must have been fun for the kids and adults alike. 🤠
It’s a fun neighborhood tradition. This year was the 40th year.
Very cool little pocket knife, it has a wonderful look to it. 🤠
Thanks, John. It’s a good “small” knife. They’re probably due for another run of them some time soon.
Good Morning Porch Friends
Sweet knife and a nice-looking fire pit.
