What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

My condolences.

Thanks Jim, they are like no other. 😊

Wow, those are impressive Paul. 😎👍

Now that’s fluctuation! 😳 We just have a spillway so we don’t see anything like that.

I saw a story Friday on a local St. Louis station trying to claim they have better BBQ than KC. The mayor of KC wasn’t very happy with that claim! 🤣

My condolences Mike, a fitting tribute. 👍

Well, then call me Mr. Danger, Jack!

Such a nice pair.

Sorry. Here’s to good memories.

John Primble Serpentine Jack, Taylor’s Eye Witness LF (don’t call me dangerous!), and in the interest of overdoing it to the point of absurdity, a third knife just for lopping off lettuces, spinach, and kale, and trimming baby beets and green onions for tonight’s salad. I could always just come in the house later and get the garden knife, but all three fit nice and snug in this home made cell phone belt sheath. It was perfect for my old Motorola flip phone, but I store that one with the buggy whips.View attachment 1866791View attachment 1866806

I will be trying to avoid indoor chores today, hope you all have a nice Sunday!

Sorry for your loss Mike ☹️👍

It makes sense Rachel, it seems many of us carrying more than one knife these days 😁🙂 That's a wonderful Swanky Sunday pairing! 😁😉👍

Thank you very much my friend, I hope you have a fantastic day 🙂👍

Haven’t tried the two milder ones yet, but I have a pork butt in fridge that’ll be going on the smoker overnight to make pulled pork for the week, so I’ll do a taste test of ‘em all together.

Yeah, normally I’ll go back maybe 10 pages and just catch up on the last couple days.

The Extra Hot is certainly my favorite BBQ sauce. Had to order 12 bottles to get a reasonable per-bottle price, so I got a couple each of the others for the wife and kids. I think we’re set for a while.

It’s been years since I’ve actually eaten at Gates. Do they still yell at you demanding your order as soon as you step in the door? 😁

Sorry to hear that Mike.

That’s a fair point. 😁 I’ve never really been one to switch out on a daily basis, and I’ll usually carry the same knives for a least a few days, but if I go to long I start to feel guilty about all the other knives that want to be carried. Don’t want to hurt their feelings. 😉😁

There was an old resort town called Monte Ne that had been in the river valley, which is now beneath the lake. Some of its stone structures, including an amphitheater, still exist underwater. It’s a popular spot with scuba divers, and when the water’s extremely low some parts rise above the lake’s surface.

Thanks everybody 👍

St. Louis better BBQ?! cool_shades.gif

Hi! May I help you?
They did the last time I was there. Part of the whole "experience" :D

The arts and entertainment section of the Sunday Chronicle is called the ”Pink Section”. Hidden on the front page is an image of the “Little Man” Who is used by movie reviewers to rate new movies. See if you can find him. Neither knife is covering him and I’ll include a key to what he looks like. Some days it’s hard to find, today‘s difficulty is medium.

Just caught up on about 80 pages in this thread. 😳 Sorry for all the like/replies to weeks-old posts! I need to do a better job keeping up!

So sorry for your loss, Taylor. Thank you, too, for your kind words about our Maggie in the knives and dogs thread, which I don’t think I ever actually replied to.

Might be one of the best looking Opinels I’ve seen. Very cool!

They did end up a nice shade of green, didn’t they?

Very nice, Will. I have a similar knife, can’t remember the brand off the top of my head, but I think mine might have been made somewhere a bit east of Spain. 😉 Still a nice pattern and handy little knife.

Great photo! 🐢

That’s a cool hobo knife, GT!

Awesome photo! I like that #65, but wish they’d done that one in 1095.

That’s something that’s been interesting for me here in Minnesota. Last year there was a big hubbub about Lake Minnetonka being several inches low, and they closed the dam, and Minnehaha Falls (which are part of the creek that flows out of Minnetonka) temporarily dried up.

The (man-made) lake I grew up on in Arkansas could fluctuate several feet. There’s a highway bridge over the part of the lake near where we lived, and the lake surface could be 15 feet or more from the bottom of the bridge, but when the water’s high it can get to where you can’t make it under the bridge in a boat.

Beautiful knives, Jim.

I know we have the eye-roll emoji 🙄 but I feel like there should be an eye-roll “reaction.”

So that’s how they keep her going! 😁

Always thought the Muslin Micarta looked great on the #71; one of my favorite versions of one of my favorite patterns.

Perhaps one of the most convincing English accents by an American actor, eh? 😉

Wait, you mean it wasn’t a good accent?! 😲🤣

That looks tasty! Are those potatoes in there?

I’ve enjoyed your posts from your continental adventure.

Cool photo, Jack. 😎

They're cool knives, but not really the best designed fork, is it?

Love that pic (and knife)!! 😁

I’ve been carrying these two a lot lately. I should probably switch it up soon.

I’m glad to see the sodbuster getting used, Barrett.
