You see. South Carolina is a whole nother animal. Eastern and Lexington styles are North Carolina. South Carolina has four styles including mustard, vinegar, light and heavy tomato. There's a lot of good stuff going on down here.😉
I’ll be honest, my time in South Carolina and North Carolina it all looked the same to me. I didn’t know it was that diverse.
WAIT A MINUTE!!!

I’ll give it to you, not every South Carolina gas station BBQ sandwich is worth a crap, but if you know where the good stuff is, it will make a good Memphis/KC/Chicagoan drool. Texans won’t admit it’s good, but they will go back for seconds. 😂

And yes @r8shell ,good pork needs no sauce, but why miss out on all the juicy goodness!!!!

And…Clemson is gonna have a durn good football team this year. And…boiled peanuts are real tasty. And…Go Tigers.

South Carolina is the 2nd favorite place I’ve lived, with Dubuque Iowa being number 1. I think for me it’s a consistency thing. I prefer thicker sauce. No way you can make a pork steak with thinner stuff.

Oh yeah. Here, BBQ places sell Ribs, brisket, and chicken, but when people think about barbecue their first thought is always pulled pork. Preparation of the meat is different between North Carolina and South Carolina style. And then sauces are different depending on location.

In the end, good food and drink with good people is pretty universal - and all the more special if some type of beast is grilling, roasting, or smoking. I’m down for it all!

Good looking steak you got there with a couple of fine knives!

Hope you are all having a peaceful Sunday.

Stylish pair Gary :)
I’ve been kinda absent here lately. I’m on a trip with the family celebrating my 20th wedding anniversary. I brought a couple SAKs along for the trip.

Happy Anniversary! :) Hope you're having a great trip :)
Today we headed over to Back Channel Brewing, a local brewery just down the road from us. They were having a princess event for the kids, which the girls loved, and there was beer and pizza, so I couldn’t really complain. I still had the #71 “Sacto Special” and stag HHB with me.

After a while it started raining (which was not in the forecast). Thankfully we had finished eating and took cover under an awning, while Eleanor had a grand time running around in the rain with some other kids.
