What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Thanks, JJ. :)

You're too kind, Mike. 🤓 I like making little comments about some of the posts that "catch my fancy" for one reason or another, but I don't seem to have enough time to do it regularly the way I used to. Probably a combination of threads moving at faster pace than they used to, and me having other "demands" on my time than I used to.

Thanks for the bonus pics of your Germany trip, Harry!:cool::thumbsup:
I've only been to Europe once, and spent the entire time I was there in Spain. I visited several cathedrals in Spain, and they were very majestic, with much more to see and appreciate than I could handle in a couple of hours! Here's a photo I took of the main altar in the cathedral in Toledo, Spain:

The cork-handled Mora I mentioned is a fixed blade and I don't know when I would carry it, but I certainly like the concept of a cork handle. 🤓

I think the Hollyhock Parade has become "more sophisticated" over the years, as the kids' bikes were joined by a "marching band" (folks from the neighborhood who only play for the parade, I think), police cars and fire trucks, antique vehicles of various kinds, some commercial vehicles, and local politicians in convertibles.

2-Blade Knife of the Week is a Rough Rider smooth tobacco bone copperhead (thanks, Todd):

Thanks, Jack.
Beautiful scenery Bart. Have you had any Bigfoot sightings? 🤣
Thanks, Todd. No sightings yet. 😁 There are very few non-aquatic animals here. Dogs, cats, rats, pigs, chickens, birds and lizards are all.
Letting the new trapper hob knob with the regulars. Sure do like the wharncliffe attachment on this one.

Those wharncliffe 48s look like they would make a great knife.

Have a nice day .

You always post GREAT pictures and interesting knives of fine craftsmanship. I was disappointed when all I could see in your post was an "X" over a small icon representing an image.
Luckily, your picture showed up when I quoted your post in this reply. Don't know if the image will remain though, once I click "Post Reply".
Not sure what's going on with the forum software or picture hosting sites, but other BF members are having difficulty posting images as well.
EDIT: Well apparently the image did not remain visible once I posted this reply ... but it showed up again when I clicked "edit" on this post. Weird

Hi,
Thank you. I'm sorry, indeed it happens that my pictures are not visible here while they are on other forums. I don't know if it has something to do with the image host or with my place of residence.
I'm doing a test by republishing the image this time hosted on Flickr
Have a nice day

Snattle Rake !! Snattle Rake !! errrrrrrrrr Rattle Snake !! We'd just finished dinnerd and I was at the computer perusing BF while Cindy went out to move the sprinkler in the back yard. She came in abruptly and said I'd better get out in the yard as we had a rattle snake slithering alongside the house. I grabbed my Case Sowbelly off the desk and away I went. No before pictures (I was moving too fast) but here's the after picture. It's a "Great Basin Rattle Snake". They're pretty darn potent and not to be taken lightly. Had a hard time getting the dogs in the house as they were excited. I finished cutting it's head off after I took this picture. It had 4 rattles and a nub and was about three feet long stretched out. Anyway, it's nice to know I can still get a hustle up when it counts. :) I just hope we don't see (key word see) a six or eight footer. Those are much harder for me to deal with. Actually, that's shotgun time.

I'd have used something longer for a 3-footer.
All we have are massassaugas, and they're supposed to have killed only one old man who used to like to kill them by grabbing their tails and snapping them like a whip. (The last one he snapped the wrong way.)
I believe they're endangered, so if I ever see one in my yard, I hope it doesn't die in a softball accident.
That skin could make some killer flip-flops (“slaps”)
Or slips!

My big Olsen, maybe.

I have been Lurking but posting very little due to being very busy with outside work . Started to pressure wash our concrete patio and concrete driveway and discovered a fuel leak at the sediment bowl and ended up having to change the carburetor for less money than a bowl would have cost . Bowl cost would have been $40 and carburetor cost $20 . Go Figure that ???

Carrying this one today and finished another project .

Like this knife a lot thanks to some an enabler that I will not mention , but paulhilborn paulhilborn knows who it is .
Project was to make a safer way to get on and off the Zero Turn mower because I slipped and fell getting off . No harm caused by the slip .

My wife says that an 81 year old guy don't need to be doing all that stuff but I am not ready to sit around yet and I still have another day of pressure washing to do .
Edited to add : I have No Idea why the pictures do not show . They are now showing while I am editing this post .

Harry

Harry, regarding your photos, there’s definitely a problem with the forum software and hosted photos that needs to be addressed, but I noticed that you’re using Imgur, which is what I use and it seems to be working for me (for now). When you post, are you copying the “Linked BBCode” from Imgur? Maybe try copying the one that just says “BBCode” instead. I changed the code in the quote above and it looks like the pics are showing up.

I might need to wear braces! :D
(Yeah, I know what you folks call 'em, but I don't really want to think about that! o_O)

Have you ever seen the movie Bull Durham? 😉🤣
