So, how was it?
It was great. What’s not to love about grilled chicken and fries in a whole baguette for $4?

LOL! 🤣 That looks good! 😋 I once got them to make me up a 'chip butty' (on pa amb tomàquet), and by the end of the week, all the regulars there were hooked! 😁 Primanti Brothers have been doing it since 1933 though! 😂
It was a first for me, and it was great. I’ve never heard of that bread. Sounds good, even with fries 😁
Good Morning Porch Friends
I had a fun little hike with Bluey this morning.

Your dog looks like he’s got a ton of personality. Love the knife, too 👍
No doubt. Been wanting one for a while. Seemed like they got super popular there for a bit and way out of my price range, but they seem to have settled down a bit. I’m thinking this one is a keeper. The pulls are a bit soft. Probably about a four. But honestly that’s very in line with the Schrade, if they were trying to model it after the 293.
It looks great. I’m surprised how long those lingered on shelves when they came out.
73 in Stag today, Hank approves
Sorry but posting pictures as I've always done, just doesn't work:mad:
Great looking dog, Paul.
Congrats on the anniversary, and thanks for sharing some pics of your Polynesian Paradise!:cool::cool:

Thanks, Gary. We made it back home last night. It was a fun trip and a wonderful way to celebrate.

Proud to tote this BOKER U.S.A. two blade for Tuesday. 8368 Large Jack Knife. 4" closed
"TREE BRAND" etch is long gone but the old steel takes a keen edge
Solid knife with a little heft. Excellent walk and talk smoothed by age ... and a drop of oil now and then
Tight, centered well enough and no wobble. Neither bade has half-stops. Jig Delrin almost had me fooled for a second

It was great. What’s not to love about grilled chicken and fries in a whole baguette for $4?
Wow, you struggle to get a coffee for that here!
It was a first for me, and it was great. I’ve never heard of that bread. Sounds good, even with fries 😁
Great! :D More like like hand-cut potato wedges, fried in olive oil, in that case! :D I don't know how they do it. but apparently you can get a Primanti Brothers sandwich delivered anywhere in the USA! :D

Back to reality.

Mustang Monday?
Primble Primble I'd like to second that your Camillus' are very fun too look at, thanks for showing us Rob!

Amir Fleschwund Amir Fleschwund Jeff thank you so much for sharing your memories/stories of your family! I have one of Grandpa's slipjoints myself and although it's just an old Imperial it is *my* most precious knife, I imagine you feel much the same? I've been carrying mine occasionally, but I do like your notion of buying a second for carry, helps that they're only about 20$ New old stock. Also, looks like Pa sharpened it on the bottom of a coffee cup to a zero-point edge, which I find likely given his disposition on spending $, so it would be nice to have a more useable edge.

Is there a porch introduction thread somewhere that I haven't found yet? Seems like many in here are on a first-name basis. I will learn all your names eventually, not my strong suit though. My name is Frederick, but my friends usually call me just "F.C.", so please "Frederick" or "FC", I do not enjoy "Fred" or "Freddy" much. ephsea--->FC 👋

It’s funny, FC, but when I saw your name ephsea, before reading your post, I thought “I’ll bet his initials are F.C.
Regarding getting to know names ~ I put my actual name, Jeff, as a signature that is supposed to show automatically when I post. Not sure if it still does, because I can’t see it in my phone. The phone is all I have for online stuff. Bill Gates quit updating and supporting the operating system of my old desktop ‘puter, and the nerds who own Apple did the same to my macbook. Never use either now, and too cheap to buy another. Mrs Fleschwund, aka: Vickie, has a laptop for work, and there are several of those pad things floating around that she and my daughter use.
Anyway, thanks for the nice comment, and for introducing yourself!
Thank you Jack!

You, my friend, have some lovely knives!
"need stacked." You sound like my Pittsburgh relatives. ;)

I see that on sale ads ~ “Good Runner. Needs Fixed.” or on ebay, etc. and want to tell them ~ “TO BE!” “You forgot the danged verb!”🤨

Never realized it might be a regional thing.
I had an aunt who always slipped an r into words like wash...

Attached is my carry for the last couple of days, and a little elaboration..
I grew up in the 70’s and 80’s and most of my knives I carried were primarily what I considered “weapons” cheap NATO OTF knives, balisongs, pointy/stabby knives, etc. the modern tactical knives had not really come along yet but if they had it would have been right up my alley. Then after I got a little older, and after going into a new phase in my life I realized after some reflection that for me a knife is not really the best choice for self defense (that’s what my concealed carry pistols are for) but a knife is primarily meant to be a “cutting tool”
I know this sounds silly, but it was a realization that I came to that changed my direction and philosophy on knives and set the direction for my collecting that still continues today.
I desired to get a new knife that was designed as a good cutting tool, and one that reminded me of the old Colonial stockman that I had as a kid and lost. So I purchased this Buck 373 back in 2006 (I believe due to the date stamp) and started trying to perfect my sharpening skills etc. while this is a Chinese made Buck, and is really not anything extra special, it is special to me because it was my first of what would become many in my renewed interest and search for good quality effective cutting tool, and I like to think of this one as where my current collection started
