What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Same old Eureka.

Really nice picture of a really nice knife ! 😊

Another really nice picture of a really nice knife ! ☺️

This Boker 5974 is a sentimental, inherited piece with a cracked pile-side handle. I've never carried it before, but I pocketed it today for pictures. Now I'll feel alright cutting with it.

Beautiful !
I betcha it will cut stuff just fine ! ;) ☺️

Supposed to be mid nineties today. I reckon the only consolation in knowing it could be as hot as a firecracker, like it currently is across the pond. 🔥 Hope Mr. Jack's fans keep on working.🍀☺️

Since it is Wednesday and since I like this old knife and since it is wood handled and since I want to, I am going to tote my Landers, Frary, & Clark (New Britain, CT.) cocobolo pruner today. ☺️
It is very pocketable at 3 & 7/8ths" closed.

Post Office sent me an e-mail yesterday, please come and collect a package. Intrigued, not expecting anything....a great benefactor from France had sent me a fine Horn handled Regional with 'gutter' bolsters. Quel surprise! Really bonded with it and it's been on Apple atrocity duties already

Many thanks indeed 🤩

Well that is a new one on me. Never heard of a gutter bolster ! 🤔 🤔 🤔 ☺️ I learned one new thing already today ! 🤣
Fancy !😊
I like the blade stamp and umbrella. I wish modern makers would use stamps instead of etches.
Blade etches tend to make knife owners not use a knife for fear of losing the etch, where stamps don't do that.

Thanks, agree about the stampings and quite a few French knives still have them.

The bolsters are called I think "gouttière" which are like rainwater guttering (Americans may use a different word?) and it's a knife in the Burgundy style (great place for wines 😻) Parapluie à l'epreuve uses this neat stamp.

It's one ultra sharp cutter this one!

I reckon you could have shown the matching lighter with flame burning, but, that might be insulting right now, until the temps come down over there. ;) 🔥🤣
Psst ................. Mr. Jack can't hear right now because of all the fans running on high. 🤣 🔥 🔥 🔥
Lemme turn that temp up😉

Not only the bolsters , that gave its name to the knife. Gouttière.
